just curious, can we claim the windscreen insurance to get a new tinted without replacing the windscreen?
reason being is, just get myself a 2nd hand car, the original tinted get torn off during the puspakom inspection, so now need to get a new tinted for windscreen & the 4 side windows. |

Hi guys, just got myself a 2nd hand car, so for puspakom inspection windscreen and front windows tint was removed. Thinking to tint them with JPJ compliance tint that is not too dark
Is there any film with good TSER that meet these requirements? TIA |

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Feb 9 2023, 11:30 PM) just curious, can we claim the windscreen insurance to get a new tinted without replacing the windscreen? Insurance for windscreen only priority for claim new windscreen first. Must change new windscreen and for tinted need topup usually . Free tinted usually using low spec tint. Better to do full car tinted , better value yea. Ala carte without full car usually more expensive outside market.(calculate by pieces)reason being is, just get myself a 2nd hand car, the original tinted get torn off during the puspakom inspection, so now need to get a new tinted for windscreen & the 4 side windows. |

Is there any perceptible difference between IRR of 85 and 75?
The price difference between the two packages is about RM500 for Raytech. |

Raytech AC IRR=65%, TSER=40% RM750 Raytech FC IRR=75%, TSER=48% RM1150 Rhinepro black rescue IRR=90%, TSER=40% RM980 any advice on which is better? i'm confused which number to look at for heat rejection. |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Feb 22 2023, 09:13 AM) wanna give my 2 cents, going by logic, if wrong, i will edit/remove lets assume the numbers are correct, then there may be few possibilities: 1. the high IRR applies only to a narrow range within the infrared spectrum, the other IR spectrum may have weak rejection, therefore TSER is lower than expected. 2. high IRR covers wide range of infrared spectrum, but rejection of other heat components of "light" is weak, as TSER includes UV, visible light and infrared (and all of these cause heat too), therefore TSER is lower than expected. 3. IRR is high, if the film is absorptive type, most of the IR is absorbed, over a period of time, there is a cumulative of heat energy from prolonged intense IR absorption that film became a secondary source of heat, therefore TSER is lower than expected.
