QUOTE(hunterlala @ Apr 20 2018, 10:02 AM) Ya, it's the raytech Georgetown at jalan Perak. And yesterday I ask at raytech alor setar, they quote me the same price too. Is it possible the price of tinting already fluctuate??? Or better I get 3m auto film?? Don't know if the Raytech price went up or not. If it's so expensive, survey other brands. 3M is also good.

QUOTE(hunterlala @ Apr 21 2018, 09:39 AM) Yesterday went to 3m n ask, they quote crystalline/ ebony for just 1.2k, crystalline/ fxhp for 1.5k. A lot cheaper than raytech, quality wise izit the same??? Seems like this two series won't reject infrared. For best performance, go with full 3M crystalline. Ebony and FX-HP is lesser performance, but then price also cheaper. So up to you to choose. Crystalline 70 for FWS and the rest can be Crystalline 40 or 50 depending on how dark you want it. I think like this might be around 2k price. However, do check if Crystalline will block smart tag or not. It may not be such a big deal for you since less toll gate in Penang compared to KL. QUOTE(#Victor @ Apr 21 2018, 08:36 PM) A brand name used by a retailer for a product or product line made specifically for or by the retailer. Such a product, usually offered at a lower price than a comparable name-brand product. I see. Thanks. However, I see the Ebony and FX-HP listed on 3M's website: http://solutions.3m.com.my/wps/portal/3M/e...cts/Comparison/ In this case, it's not a dealer's own product. Like this would Ebony and FX-HP still be considered as house brand?

QUOTE(cassplayer @ May 18 2018, 06:53 PM) So my question now is, what's the best way to remove those thin streaks of transparent glue without having to pull out my base layer tint, so he can install the new tint for me? Try using Goo Gone: https://googone.com/products/original/Can buy from Ace Hardware.

QUOTE(mushigen @ Jun 6 2018, 11:39 AM) I'm surprised you passed, since your front sides and windscreen have clearly failed. I wonder if JPJ allows a tolerance % for VLT reading. That's the only explanation why lulus given even though it falls below the official %.

QUOTE(lastbatch @ Jun 6 2018, 08:48 PM) How much this combi cost? Plan to install within 2k++. A few option... Raybarrier 6, wingard royale or raytech mx That combi can get below 2k. The M-series is the 3rd level tint from Raytech. In fact I think you can go up to Q-series (2nd level) and still be within 2k budget.

QUOTE(gus_fring @ Jun 7 2018, 11:58 AM) As I understand, almost all automotive front windscreens are treated for UV protection nowadays. So does it still make sense to apply a tint on the front windscreen? The purpose of applying tint on the windscreen is to block heat. The windscreen is perhaps the area with biggest exposure to sun. Note that UV protection by itself is not the same as blocking heat.

QUOTE(gus_fring @ Jun 7 2018, 07:37 PM) Thanks for the clarification on the UV. Thanks for this. I'm not really a fan of darker tints so I'm trying to do the basic level to reduce the heat in the cabin while parked in the sun. Actually even 40% VLT is not really that dark. It's not like those dark until cannot see the person or inside the car (I think those are like 10% VLT or lower). Best is for you to check out some tints and find out what level is acceptable to you. But the basic rule is the darker the better heat rejection. So choose the darkest tint that you can accept.

QUOTE(Remy101 @ Jun 8 2018, 05:02 PM) any issue with SmartTag with Raytech? was quoted the below for SUV, do you think can get lower? Raytech FC -RM1600 -IR75% (2m) Raytech FX -RM1800 -IR75% (4m) Raytech MC- RM2200 -IR85% (2m) I'm using Raytech RC, no issues with Smart Tag. What size of SUV do you have? Got sunroof? Definitely can get lower. Last time for Raytech MC for mid size SUV I got quoted below 1.5k. For 2.2k I can already get the top Raytech RC tint. Disclosure: Raytech dealer is a friend of mine (but sorry this dealer is not in Klang Valley). Hunt around some more and nego more. This post has been edited by jchong: Jun 8 2018, 05:54 PM

QUOTE(Remy101 @ Jun 11 2018, 09:06 AM) hi Mine is CX5 , no sunroof. 1.5 is cheap, but for front windscreen they dont use RC range right? do you know what is your front windscreen tint? 1.5k is using the M70 for front windscreen and MC for the rest. I'm using the full Raytech RC series, meaning Ultra 70 for windscreen and the rest is RC Black. The table below shows the normal recommendation for all the series:

QUOTE(WEE2000 @ Jun 16 2018, 10:41 AM) I'm soon getting my new ioniq, i was quoted by the SA that they gave discount if i use raytech. prices i got is : my price to you after rebate & deducting smart tag 120 that no more stock AX - 65% heat rejection rm1400 u pay 1000 FX - 75% heat rejection rm1900 u pay 1400 MX - 85% heat rejection rm2700 u pay 2040 QX - 90% heat rejection rm3400 u pay 2600 RX - 98% heat rejection rm4000 u pay 3080 Is this really discounted price? It is discounted off the list price, but you can get better discount if you go direct to a Raytech dealer. Shop around too because different dealer might quote differently.

QUOTE(bpay14 @ Jun 28 2018, 10:00 AM) yes i get what you mean. and i do have the warranty card with the hologram stickers.. what i mean is... the real physical tint that pasted on my windows may not come from the type that match with the hologram stickers right? this is purely based on human trust to the shop & people in there. hahaha... no worries, no issue at all.. i'm just raising up the possibility for small discussion.. i believe Raytech is a major brand in tint industry and you all will have QA to maintain their reputation.. Yes, it would be based on trust in the shop and the workers. It's the same for any other brand of tint. I guess that's why people advise to go to authorised dealer and get all the warranty cards. Because in worst case scenario can still go back to the master dealer and claim in case of problem.

QUOTE(Str33tBoY @ Jul 5 2018, 11:14 AM) Anione using Raytech Tint like more den 5 years and above... What's ur experience? As i personally went for mid high-end tinted, like cs70/cs75 something... Feel like d performance drop kinda lot when 3rd year... And now 5th d car feels damn hot... Getting a new car soon,so thinking which other option can i go for... I think you can go back to Raytech and ask them to test your tint performance (I think they have BTU meter to test). If it really has dropped a lot, then perhaps claim under warranty.

QUOTE(genchwan @ Jul 8 2018, 04:30 PM) Hi all Solar Raytech AC IRR 65% . Rm600 for standard car. 5 years warranty. I have absolutely no experience in this Is it a good price? Really afraid of getting cheated Sifus. Please advise Thanks I think RM600 for Raytech AC is a fairly good price. Depending on your budget, I think you can upgrade to Raytech FC by spending extra RM200-250. This post has been edited by jchong: Jul 9 2018, 06:06 PM

QUOTE(bl0om @ Jul 15 2018, 11:12 AM) Hi. Everyone here talk about high end tint. Is there anyone know middle class tint shop/brand? I got budget top at RM500 for tint. Anyone got any suggestion for me any reputable shop/brand to tint my Perodua Viva? Cheapest branded tint I found was 3M at ~RM800. Shop location within Klang Valley since I'm from Gombak. Worth to add, I think I don't need security tint. Just tint with good heat reduction. You can consider Raytech AC series. Someone above posted it was RM600 for his car.

QUOTE(ov3rdrive @ Jul 16 2018, 02:09 AM) Raytech this option Side and rear using Ac ( heat rejection 65%) Front windscreen using M70 (heat rejection 85%) Total: RM1100 Gentlemen, can please comment this is good enough? car Mazda 3 You mean: is it good enough in terms heat rejection? First thing is, the percentage that you mentioned of 65% and 85% is actually IR (infrared) rejection. Usage of the term "heat rejection" for this is not the complete picture. For the complete picture look at the % for Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER).
