Intereting... the HO even better than Raytech RX eh... which model is it from HO? Next time can consider that too... I'm using RX at the moment.
*
What is your opinion of using the Raytech RX?

Also any problem with Smart Tag or phone GPS?

Ceramic 60 for front, Ceramic 40 for driver& passenger, Ceramic 30 for all back
Are you comparing apples to apples against your Raytech RX? In terms of darkness of the tint, because I see you use slightly darker for Huper.

Is your Raytech similarly as dark?

This is why you need to have more variety in products to cater for other consumers  requirements. For me, I will sacrifice compliance for comfort. The reason why I went to your shop is because your tint specification states higher than your competitors when in fact after application and comparison it fares much worse. I had the assumption that your tint is superior because of the specification, marketing, etc and you did not mention that lower VLT will yield better heat rejection.

I have the assumption that your tint has both comfort and compliance based on the spec sheet. I realized this is false and now you mention here of cos H brand is better because the VLT is lower hence the heat rejection is better. But that is not what is stated from your spec sheet of your top range RX?????
After checking the specs I see what you mean by the above.

Raytech Ultra 70 (for windscreen), VLT 73%, TSER 58%
Huper Ceramic 60 (for windscreen), VLT 60%, TSER 42%

Looking at TSER, in theory the Raytech should be much cooler than Ceramic 60, even though the VLT is higher. But in practice you feel the Ceramic 60 performs better. Hmmm.....

Lord Gitsy you got any comment on this?

Hi, went to an authorized Raytech and 3M shop in Alor Setar

Vehicle for tainting: Subaru Forester (all windows)

price quote:
(i) Raytech RX series(side windows) and Raytech ultra70 for front windscreen, back windscreen i forgotten. RM 3.5k with 7 yrs of warranty
(ii) 3M crystaline (solar type) crystaline 70 for front windscreen crystaline 50 for front side and crystaline 40 for back passenger and rear windscreen. RM 3.1k 5yrs warranty.

are the prices reasonable??
*
Too high. I'm from Perak and have also surveyed a few brands for my SUV.

3M C70 front and C40 the rest was quoted about RM2.5k
Raytech Ultra 70 and RX did not reach 3k

Mine is Sech60 all round. I just wonder if other Huper Optik users also have this similar problem with repeated rainbow wave pattern at the side windows. This makes the car look very ugly.

Is mine exceptional case or Huper Optik films have much more obvious rainbow effect than other films? Thanks!
*
One of my cars also using Sech 60 all round. No rainbow effect at all.

How long have you installed your Sech 60?

Lord Gitsy,

I think you misunderstood my question.

I'm not asking about legal or illegal tint. My question was about performance. Looking at the TSER spec, the Raytech Ultra 70 should be cooler than the HO C60. But how come the user felt that C60 is cooler than your Raytech?

Lord Gitsy,

Can you confirm that all the specs for your Raytech film (like VLT, UVR, IRR, TSET and TSER) have been lab tested by qualified lab?

Is it possible for you to post a sample of the lab test certificate here?

But this result only proves the tint and not the whole package (ie tint Plus window). Although it follows certain European standard/ international standard, it might not take into account different car manufacturers use different window specification (chemicals which will alter the results which include the tint). I highly doubt the original window glass for myvi and rolls Royce would have same result if tested without tint under those conditions.
*
Most people are interested in comparing the tint film only. Even if you look at the manufacturer's spec, it is film only.

If you add in the window then too many variables already because like you said each car's window might be different.

For Honda Civic
Front Windscreen C70
Front passenger n drive C50
Rear passenger n driver side C40
Rear Windscreen C40

She quoted me RM3400 with Rm500 discount..RM2900
*
You're right, that price of 2900 is very high. Definitely can get much cheaper.

My Huper spec: Sech 60 front + C40 all around (JPJ approve).
*
Huper Optik is a good brand.

Sech 60 front + C40 all around is a commonly recommended combo, but I'm not sure if it is fully JPJ compliant.

For example windscreen is required to be 70% VLT, Sech 60 is only 59%. Secondly, the driver and front passenger windows supposed to be 50% VLT, C40 is 42%.

That’s because 3M has the most heat rejection tint in the market (per VLT). Hence, Smart Tag won’t work.
*
I thought it was because 3M Crystalline has highest rating for IRR. I think Smart Tag uses infra-red frequencies to communicate.

not so expensive....
bini  complain direct sunlight burn skin LOLL..
if possible ada yang JPJ complied + and the tinted ada yang gelap sikit?
*
What is your budget? Otherwise dunno what you mean by "not so expensive".

Gelap sikit tint won't be JPJ compliant.

actually i also not sure what is the standard tinted film.. err maybe around 1500rm
*
RM1500 can get you a mid-range tint, which is decent. The top end ones are usually above 2K, and the cheap ones can be around 1K or below.

Ask around the big brands and they can specify the mid-range tint to suit your budget.

which place would have a solar meter to test the TSER ya?
*
Actually I think the solar meter can only test BTU performance. It can't actually measure TSER %.

Perhaps Lord Gitsy can clarify.

can advise what brand gooding ?

wan JPJ compliant, don wan trouble.
good heat rejection

below 1k got or not  hmm.gif
*
There are tint films below 1k. But the heat rejection performance will not be as good as more expensive tint.

Also remember that every brand got different range within the brand, from more expensive to less expensive.

advise tint brand ? what price range considered above average ?

btw, do they open door panel prior to install tint?
*
Look at the major brands like 3M, V-Kool, Huper Optik, Raytech...

Above average tint will be around 1.2 - 1.5k. Top end will be around 2k+

Another important factor is to find a good installer.

i am actually getting a Honda City these couple of months. should i add the tint package onto the car? its Horizon safety and Ray Barrier brand. sorry im not familiar with car tints but there's alot of details i dont understand biggrin.gif

or should i just go out and get my own tint package from like vcool or any other recommended brands?

thanks!
*
I always prefer to do tinting outside with one of the well known brands. Those that come packaged by the car salesman are usually marked up higher and also lesser known brand. For example, never heard of this Horizon safety and Ray Barrier brand that u mentioned.

3M crystalline 50 at RM2900 for Civic X, is this price reasonable?
*
I believe can get cheaper than that for 3M Crystalline for a Civic. Last time I was quoted around 2.3k for 3M Crystalline, but this is for a SUV which is gonna be higher than for sedan car.

any recommendations regarding brands or type of materials to get? i am just looking to block as much heat from entering the car under the sun smile.gif is there such thing?
*
My personal preference is any of the big brands like 3M, Huper Optik, V-Kool, Raytech, etc. Nowadays got some new brands also like Haverkamp, but I don't know much about them.

If you want to block as much heat as possible, then go for darker tint (even though might not be 100% JPJ compliant). All the brands have got different ranges, so check out their website and look at the specs.

Also take note that some films might block smart tag or even phone GPS.

I been using few tinted Raytech the RX series n Ultra series raytech, but I feel very bad heat are coming in after using it for 3years at my Forester i when to tint shop the IR drop terrible then last time from IR 98 now drop to IR 53 only 😕
*
Did you try to claim warranty for this? If IR drop so much I think Raytech should do something to rectify.

QUOTE(ALEX CHUK @ Mar 13 2018, 12:25 PM)
But for my others cars C250 are using (HUPER OPTIK)CERAMIC 40 for 5 years tell a true no comment really very satisfied heat rejecting at my car perfect.
*
Did you test performance of Huper after 5 years to see if IR also drop?
