Normally well know brands like Vkool, 3M, Llumar, Huper-Optik,etc start from 2k for small saloon car
*
2k+ is only if you go for the top range tint from those brands.

If you get the mid or lower range then it will be cheaper.

Just installed Huper Optik C70 (Front), and the rest all C40 on my 2018 Perodua Myvi at Breyton Penang. First impression about the heat rejection is really good.
*
Yeah, Huper Optik is one of the good tints. How much did it cost you for C70 + C40?

RM1850 for C70 (Front) + C40 (The rest). 5 years warranty. Be reminded that my passenger and driver side window isn't JPJ compliant, you can go for C70 + C50 if you want to be safe.
*
Nice price!

For C70 + C50 is like RM1650 if I'm not mistaken, originally wanted C50 then went to the shop and saw C40 then suddenly decided to get the C40. lol.gif
*
Oh, C50 cheaper than C40? I thought they were the same price. Anyway, C40 does give better heat rejection. One of my cars also using C40 for side windows for 5 years already, never been kacau by JPJ before.

C30 will be too much or not? brows.gif

I think C30 for sides and rear is still ok. At first I thought C40 was dark enough, but it's mid-level darkness... my wife would have preferred darker.

This is what the spec so far i research but haven't really go quote for the package yet, its actually for my Honda Civic :

Huper Optik:
Option1
========================
Front Windscreen C70 -TSER 47
Front passenger n drive C50 - TSER 50
Rear passenger n driver side C40 - TSER 55
Rear Windscreen C40

========================
Option2
Front Windscreen- Ceramic 70
All side windows- Huper Shield 40 6 mil
Rear Windscreen- Ceramic 40

========================
Option3
Front Windscreen- Select 75 - TSER 45
All side windows- Huper Shield 40 6 mil
Rear Windscreen- Ceramic 40

========================
Option 4 - get to know was around 2.1k
C70 FWS
HS40s 6mil all side
CC40 Back
*
For front windscreen, I'd suggest you go for Sech 60 (if you don't mind being non-compliant). Front windscreen lets in the most heat, so get the best film for that.

Got quote for 2.2K by HO Puchong (SmartTinted).. feint with that price.. almost equivalent to 3M price.. helpless
*
I guess there is a price for better performance smile.gif

If it doesn't fit your budget then go back to C70 + C40. In the end, you must be happy with the price.

hey, the pricing base on window size ?

Yup. So normally each shop will have a different price for small sedan, large sedan, SUV, MPV, etc.

A colleague has had his car tinted with a considerably darker shade for the front windscreen as he took the risk. I'm not sure what is the VLT but perhaps in the range of 50% to 40% VLT. His car was stopped by JPJ twice. I'm not too sure what's the story but until today the tint still remains as it is today.

will it be stupid to tint segment A car  sweat.gif

No I don't think so. Tinting can help greatly with the internal heat comfort. But maybe for segment A car don't spend for so expensive tint.

Have you try to change new battery? Its weird that Ceramic 70 cant go through Smart Tag unless they install Sech 60 for you

I use Sech 60 and have no problem with Smart Tag.

Raytech films come with photochromic smile.gif

From what I understand photochromic means can change color (lighter/darker) depending on exposure to light. You mean Raytech films can do this?

he let me test HO tint and nova or nano under heat lamp....it seems the one he recommend is better in terms of heat rejection.

what are the odds? advise pls
*
Is it possible to tell if the other film is really "HO" tint? Scared that he claims is "HO" but not really.

And if it's really HO did he say which particular HO tint it is?

Because there are ways to fudge this kind of test and give different impression to customer.

For forumer sake, I need to update on my situation above.

After 1 week of usage on HO C70 tint which failed at Smart Tag lanes 90% of the time (even after changing to new Energizer batteries). I can't take it anymore and I returned to the installer, who is also as puzzled as me how come HO Ceramic Tint main selling point is for its Smart Tag/electronic friendly characteristic compared to metallic based tint such as VKool. To be fair, only Smart Tag signal was blocked, autogate/condo RFID boom gate/ Phone GPS all works fine.

I took out the HO tint after 1 week usage, though my heart ache like mad as the tint was done perfectly with good workmanship and I got use to the color hue, but had to take it out due to the inconveniences of having to wind down my car window every time I pass the toll. I went back to the installer and claim warranty, they took out the tint, and I top up money to install VKool Elite, as I don't want to take any more chances with HO tint anymore.

VKool works fine with Smart Tag now, but autogate/condo RFID signal got blocked. Well, there is no perfect world I guess. Still like the color hue of VKool, greenish, very pleasing to the eyes.
*
Sorry to hear of your situation. I'm also quite particular about the tint not blocking smart tag, autogate, GPS, etc. BTW, I'm also using the old version smart tag.

I wonder why your HO C70 blocked the smart tag. I've got 2 cars tinted (about 5 years ago) with HO, but using Sech 60 for the FWS. No problems with smart tag, autogate, GPS, etc.

Got another car with Raytech Ultra 70 for FWS, again no problems with smart tag, autogate, GPS, etc.

Hi sifu, want to ask it's this price for raytech expensive???

U70/Mc RM2300
U70/QC RM2400
U70/RC RM2900

U70 means front windscreen film with 97% heat rejection.
MC is solar film for sides and back with 85% heat rejection
*
Firstly, the heat rejection numbers you got there is incorrect. Look at the TSER % not the UV or IR rejection. For U70 the TSER is 58%.

As for price, it is on the higher side. I did U70/RC Black for a lot less than RM2900 (btw I'm outside Klang Valley area). I think you should survey other Raytech installers.

Oh, what kind of vehicle are you driving? Because price also different depending on how large is your car.

I'm driving mazda 2 right now

Mazda 2 is a small sedan, so definitely should not be that expensive. Another forummer said Raytech Penang is supposed to be quite competitive in price... confused.gif

They quoted you the normal tint or is it security tint?

It's only normal tint, because security tint is much more expensive
*
In that case, the price definitely on high side for normal tint. Is it the Raytech in Georgetown give you this quote?

Last time my Raytech installer quoted U70/QC is under 1.9k for normal sedan.
