Reporting back after 6.5 years of using huper optik c40 and c60. Just like new the first day.

SmartTAG, GPS all still good and no issues. Heat rejection is still as good as the first day.
Will report back again in another 2.5 years. Happy tinting

Nope, it gets lighter as year goes by. Probably looks like 60/40 or 70/30 now. Definitely can see inside. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(haverkamp @ Aug 9 2016, 01:04 PM)
Metallized film, like dyed film, keeps heat away from interior space by reflecting it away; in the case of metallized film, this is done by very small metallic particles – invisible to the eye – embedded in the film. This metallic content strengthens the window as well; in the case of a vehicle, the window will be that much more shatter-resistant when metallized film is used. Metallized window-tinting film creates a shiny appearance from the outside. It is more resistant to scratches than dyed film. When used in a vehicle, however, one drawback of metallized film is the fact that its metallic content has a tendency to interfere with cell phone and GPS transmission, not to mention radio reception.

Carbon window tint film delivers rather better results. Carbon film doesn’t have any metal in it, so the issue with cell phones and radio transmission doesn’t arise when it is used. Carbon window-tinting film is dark and matte-finished, so it provides a tasteful option on windows. The carbon content of the film blocks about 40% of the infrared light (the kind that causes warmth) that enters through the windows. Carbon window-tinting film is about as effective as other varieties in blocking heat; its use will effectively cool inside space while also helping prevent fading to upholstery. Thus the air conditioning will not need to work so hard to cool the space during the summer, nor will the heating system be so heavily impacted during the winter. Unlike dyed film, carbon film will not fade with time.

Ceramic film is the highest quality of window tint film, and also the most expensive, contains neither metal, dye, nor carbon, but instead a kind of ceramic particle that is both nonconductive and nonmetallic. Ceramic film has only recently appeared on the market, but has already proven its worth in terms of performance and reliability. Ceramic window-tinting film cuts from 45% to 50% of the solar heat that enters through the windows in the form of infrared light, while allowing maximum visibility both by day and night. Like carbon film, ceramic window-tinting film allows maximum efficiency in the functioning of radios, cell phones, GPS systems, and all other such devices being operated from inside the protected space. It surpasses the other types in its resistance to glare and fading, and renders windows highly shatter-proof. Ceramic film is also most effective in its blocking of ultraviolet light from the interior; in the case of ultraviolet light (the kind of light rays that contribute to sunburn and skin cancer), ceramic window-tinting film can block up to 99% from entering the interior.
Majority US film are Metallized or Carbon film. Haverkamp are Ceramic film that made in Germany.
Some of brand are using Germany Ceramic technology or Label as Ceramic technology, But NOT made in Germany.

Hi bro, the heat resistance of IRR 85% is significantly better. Suggest that you can visit the shop to see their demonstration and feel the heat rejection personally smile.gif

Hi bro, for your information, normally the prices are determined by the heat rejection of window film. Higher heat rejection film will have higher price. We do have tint package which is around 500. You are welcome to PM us smile.gif

Very unlikely sellers will quote you the price here, you have to go their shop.

Am getting a Jazz (for mom) soon.. SA told me to go for the 3rd party tint (cannot remember the brand) instead of the ones offered by Honda (3M / Ecotint). Reason given is Honda offered tint is not worth the price. only worth few hundred yet charged 1.5k [sic]

Is that true? which one should I go for? am worried about the warranty if go for 3rd party. According to the SA, 3rd party also got 5 yr Honda warranty but am feeling skeptical.

Around 1.5k for Honda 3M but the 3rd party tint is about RM 2k (if i remember correctly)

Hi bro, firstly you should understand the spec of tinted package that provided by Honda. Secondly, get the package name and visit their shop to see the product demonstration. Thirdly, get know the brand that offered 2k by SA, better don't take if the brand is not popular.

Go for 3rd party will not void the Honda warranty. With 2k budget, you can get premium product at those Genuine USA brands already. smile.gif

Thanks bro smile.gif
