That Acer Aspire 5750G was spec with i7 quad core (Sandy Bridge) and GT540M, but only HD (1366x768) screen, iirc  hmm.gif

If you want similar spec:

Lenovo
Z510, i7-4702MQ + Nvidia GT740M@RM2799[2.2kg], 4GB, 1TB, backlit, W8; 2 yrs

MSI
GP60-2OD, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GT740M + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM2999, 4GB, 750GB, W8, steel series KB

Prices are RSP, negotiable.
*
Any other brands besides these two? I am not particularly familiar with the MSI and I will never touch a Lenovo with even a 10 feet pole, ugly as fk!

I suppose the Toshiba is the most balanced in terms of specs, price and warranty support hmm.gif
Though its better if you could go and check out each of these notebooks then decide from there which one you like more nod.gif

Perhaps here? http://www.epccare.com/LENOVO.pdf
Link kindly provided by xproc

Anyway, who says Lenovo has the best built for ultrabook? laugh.gif
You guys have to stop following the generalization...
Lenovo's ThinkPad line ultrabooks are awesome doesn't automatically mean that all their ultrabooks are awesome icon_rolleyes.gif

sorry if i spoiled someone's purchase here but Lenovo Y40/Y50 have been debuted at CES 2014. comes with full HD or optional 4K screen. there is non-touch and optional touch versions too, even thinner and lighter (this is mood breaking point. shakehead.gif )

Yo boss!
Long time no see  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
Can consider this:
13"
Asus S300CA-C1050H, i3-3217U + Intel HD4000 + (1366x768;touch)@RM1999, 4GB, 500GB, W8

But you are aware of Asus's bad warranty support right?  laugh.gif

If I were you, I'd go for this one instead brows.gif
13"
Samsung
Book 9 Lite NP905S3G-K01MY, AMD A6-1450 + AMD HD8250 + 128GB SSD@RM1999[1.58kg], 4GB, W8
Book 9 Lite NP915S3G-K01MY, AMD A6-1450 + AMD HD8250 + 128GB SSD + (1366x768;touch)@RM1999[1.58kg], 4GB, W8

Its not very powerful, but good enough for your mentioned usage, and it comes with an SSD yo  brows.gif  brows.gif
Looks good too~
*
I see the thread starting from december onwards few people have good experience with ASUS service center lately including me (changed mobo & lcd within a week). Cannot confirm if they have improved or not but till today I haven't seen anyone complaining in there yet tongue.gif

if you change your criteria, state so. we are not here to guess your intention smile.gif

Acer
E1-572G-74508G1Ti, i7-4500U + AMD HD8750M@RM2499[2.35kg], 8GB, 1TB, W8.1

Dell
Inspiron 15R, i7-4500U + AMD HD8850M (GDDR5) @RM2499[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), Linux, 65WHr; W8SL@RM2699

Anyway, is the i3-3217U or AMD A6-1450 fast enough without causing any lag? cause its my younger sister who is buying the laptop, worry if there's a problem with it sooner or later, and I will get blamed LOL  cry.gif  doh.gif
*
That A6 is about Intel Celeron level. Should be enough for your sis usage. The SSD will help a lot in responsiveness.
