Very keen to know what they did to fix your car.Tq

That day was lucky, the SC don't have much people. 6 people actually check on my car and fixing all the minor problem. It took almost whole day. I have spoke to the technician, knowing so much about SC procedure now. So far they have run the diagnose, they said my previous Yokohama battery amp was not up to the par. Due to continental car consist of so much electronic stuff, battery usage are very high. Moreover climbing up hill, it take more power. They have change to battery name Decor which they claim to be better. They ask me to test again, if still can't. They will send technician with me and run the diagnose with them in the Genting. They said they will bring up this case to France to ask for opinion. I will try again today, see how it goes. Hopefully really the battery problem. If you saw a 408T silver, that could be me. Stay tune.

Very good. It's a premix with good anti rust protection,so can use straight away.  Btw have used Motul oil for my old Bimer previously.

Whats the different between the Inugel Hybrid and MoCool?? Both also can use straight away? Thats what i gather from the website, but when google, they said MoCool is additive. Whats that??

Thank you very much.

let's be a bit dramatic today

you press brakes - yii yii yii, chances are there is sand stuck in between your pads and rotor

you press brakes - woong woong woong, chances your brake pads are goner

you press brakes - car vibrates like mad, chances your rotors are goner

combination of the above, be prepared to take a loan to pay your bills

Which SC was this? If they actually follow you to Genting for a test drive, then they'll be doing more than Toyota with it's legendary after sales service ever did for the problems with my old Vios. All they did was go for a really short test drive with me and ruled everything out as "normal" or "non-existent". It was only when the problem got so bad that I can't drive the car anymore that they acknowledged there was a problem. In the end it turns out I've been sending my car to a "bad" SC. This gives me much hope for the after sales service of the Lion.

Hey guys,
I just thought I'd share my 1 week experience with the Peugeot 408 2.0
I'll keep this really short. In the past, each time I drove long distance with my dad, he'll be awake the entire time. Can't blame him because my old 2008 Vios wasn't really the epitome of comfort. Today, he slept the entire way. He was so deep into sleep that when he finally woke up, he didn't realize that we'd already reached home. smile.gif

I am really surprised to hear something like this. I'm not sure if the foreman are trained if this is their fix! Your battery may be weak, that is another issue, but is not related to your engine dying uphill.

Once the engine is started the alternator provides all electrical supply. In fact the battery is being charged at this time by the alternator. The battery is on standby to provide electrical power in case the alternator fails during the time the engine is running. The engine is not an electric motor to work harder or use more electrics for uphill climb.

The fact that you are able to start several times after a while indicates your battery is not the cause of engine failure. It may be weak and needs to be changed. I don't think battery change has solved the problem. IMO it's an ECU or fuel pump issue!

Please update,am more keen now!

May be is the thermostat, if the thermostat fail to open up, then the engine will get overheat, hence the ECU send signal to stop the engine, once it cool down, you can move your car again.

I saw a Lion with this syndrome before on the way up to Cameron Highland. that time I was driving a Triton , I offer to follow him from behind just in case it happen again, ( no signal for handphone )Tapah to Ringlet.

So check your thermostat !!

Yes a possible scenario and we've had a few of that. However he said the engine dies uphill only. Everything appears ok otherwise. If it was a thermostat sensor failure,I'd expect it to happen any time.

Hi guys,

Just wanna share some feedback with you guys. I just did my 2500km inspection at Glenmarie. The service was pretty good. The staff that serve me was very professional and friendly. I arrive at 830am. And the whole inspection finish by 12pm. The wait was rather long. But also maybe i had a few complaints on the car. My gb jerky issue was solve. The issue was the engine timing and the gb timing wasnt synchronise. Hence the jerk. Coz when engine was reving, by it reach the optimum speed or rev, the gb engage already. So the actually calibrate the timing back. And now the gear change is smooth.

I realise the reason as to why ppl say the service is bad when i was there. The SC is huge and have alot of bays, but just not enough staff to attend. The SC was also quite comfy. My experience there was good, but of course the wait could be shorten. The staff attending to me actually explained to me very well.

He also told me that changing drop-in filter wont have an issue. Just as long as u put the sticker on the filter case to prevent the technician from throwing the filter away. LOL.

Hi guy, result is out. It was really cause by battery problem. What they said base that the batch of battery of Yokohama is totally suck. Now they have change to Delko and have resolve the problem. Yesterday I have manage to drive to Genting with no problem. At bottom I was driving around 60-70km and almost reaching the chinese temper I try to push a bit and drove around 90Km to 100km. So far is quite a smooth ride.

From my result here, there are actually a possible battery weak that not enough to supply to ECU during climbing hill for long time and stop. That also explain why there is insufficient power to create the log. According to SC, all Peugeot car ECU get resources from the battery. That the reason they check battery everything they service car. Now my friend also have a 208 with the same problem, the ESP light only show once and that is the symptoms of battery weak.

So far I only go SC Chan Sow Lin.
