that's very normal on all turbo units
D - slow mo mode but still better than more cars out there S - zoom zoom mode and ECU will hold gears longer i believe most imports has this similar programming aka to drop gear when you brake to induce more braking power and will hold gear when you accelerate and decelerate, ECU will hold gear as it anticipates instant power |

the 408T is not a sports sedan to begin with, at least that's how peugeot tries to sell it
a 2.4L accord or a 2.4/2.5L camry has about the same performance. I've driven the camry and 408T is definitely "lighter" to drive |

QUOTE(@Henry@ @ Jan 6 2014, 11:40 PM) Thanks bro EP6CDTM for the insulation kit and wipers. I yet to install due to the cold and wet weather these days. Will do it during sunny day. no problem mate.BTW, do we need to apply the 3M glue mentioned in the installation guide? Car clocked at 18500km today, 1500km to go for the 20k service. remember to clean the doors and degrease if you applied wax on them. degreaser can be alcohol or spirit. 3M Primer 94 acts like an adhesive enhancer, if you apply it, the double sided will last longer. I've got that 3M Primer 94 @ RM10 each if you want it |

QUOTE(mtbk3 @ Jan 6 2014, 11:01 PM) Really?? "Lighter" to drive? Means better pick up than 2.4/2.5L cars? Could it be because Accord/Camry is heavier? a camry is 1300kgs and 408T is 1500kgsSince hearing u guys say the 408T is powerful, i find it hard to belive that the Focus 0-100km/h is faster than 408T. Well....Any other would like to share their opinion on their 408T performance?? =) Thank you very much. if you still think camry is faster, go and have a test drive yourself. |

QUOTE(mtbk3 @ Jan 7 2014, 04:48 PM) No offense taken. Im not insisting that it is. Its just it felt that way to me when i drove it both. Then when i see spec sheet, is like another impression. Thats why wanna clarify it here. Hahahahah the gearbox is adaptive, it will try to learn you driving behaviourSo anyways, how responsive is the gearbox? Does it drop gear itself when we brake and go into a corner? Like u tekan the car, then near to the corner u brake, does the car drops gear itself? Or is it like my vios, it doesnt drop gear until u exit the corner and step on the accelerator? Thank you very much. if you love spirited driving, it will learn and shift down the moment you step on the accelerator like me, i drive real slow and the gearbox will shift to 6th gear on 80-85km/h |

QUOTE(jfcheong @ Jan 7 2014, 04:59 PM) If u tekan kuat before cornering, the GB will hold at a lower gear, while braking at the corner, no point the GB drop gear right?! As it already at lower gear. and if you're too fast, take note of the flashing ESP sign on the dashboardEdit: Unless u r driving smoothly and entering the corner without pressuring the minyak, the GB engage at normal gear, while entering corner, slow down while braking, it will drop to a lower/ suitable gear to fit the speed. |

QUOTE(mtbk3 @ Jan 9 2014, 05:46 PM) Take a chill pill mate. Some ppl just need more feedback's and personal experience from current owners before jumping into a decision. Hence a forum is established Thank you very much. anyway, buying a new car means the manufacturer will take care of you for 3+2 years buying a "proven" reconditioned car is a gamble and buying a "proven" car from the far east is like paying RM1m for a rumah papan |

QUOTE(hongjoo @ Jan 10 2014, 03:56 PM) Update: After diagnosis, service advisor informed me that it is due to fuel pump jam. Fuel from storage not able to reach engine, causing the engine to die. so it is related to fuel They informed me that this will take a day to fix, can collect the car tomorrow morning at 11am. We'll see if they stick to their promise. must be 1 in a million to get a fuel pump problem in a new car must popi a bit |
