Hi. Not sure what things do you refer to. Or perhaps everything from car wash to wax? smile.gif

Basic 4 steps: wash->clay->compound/polish->wax/sealant

-Wash: there are many of decent car wash products (budget as well) that you can get over the counter, like Mothers, Turtlewax, Sonax, etc. Wash with 2 bucket system. Invest on grit guard to minimize the chances of inducing more swirls on your car paint while washing your car.

-Clay: you can get soft99 claybar or 3M claybar, etc. Use car wash shampoo or quik detailer as lube while claying your car. This step is to remove surface contaminants before going to polish.

-Compound/Polish: This can be quite a long story. It totally depends on the condition of your paint surface. Recommend using Meguiars Ultimate Compound + Ultimate Polish to start playing with.

-Wax: After you have removed surface defects, it's time to apply a layer of wax (or maybe more than a layer if you wish) for protection. Meguiars, Osren, Duragloss, Optimum,.......and the product list goes on. biggrin.gif

Just a general idea for you to start with. Hope I did answer your question(which I think I did not LOL) biggrin.gif

If they're 'loose' and you plan to polish the panel, just a gentle swipe (not wipe) on those parts with a plush microfiber cloth before polishing is fine. No need for QD or anything.

Thanks for the tips. I guess im just too paranoid sometimes, fearing i might accidentally scratch the paint if simply swipe without QD. Was working on a truck lately and it keeps raining and my DA broke down suddenly when i'm halfway working on the hood. Luckily it's just loose electrical cord sweat.gif Fixed by cutting a few inches and reconnect each wire back to the circuit.

Now the DA cord is around 4 inches shorter cry.gif

Depends which side you want to clean. If you got tint, better don't.
I have been using rain x to clean and peel road tax sticker many time, I don't face any problem.

Hello

Anyone got any idea what type of leather are the leather seats used by toyota?
How do I find out so I could get a suitable leather cleaner for the seats.
I'm still new to leather seats and learning how to maintain it smile.gif

Thx

Try clay, if can't then next to do it wet sanding as the stain has etch and 'eat' into the clear coat

Can use car shampoo as lubricant for clay.
Just that you need to rinse after claying.
