QUOTE(windskill @ Dec 3 2013, 08:56 PM) Ace's price is too expensive. Tesco you can get it around RM35. Just bought it 2 weeks ago but haven't started using it. Online reviews said you can achieve the same result as ONR if you follow the instructions (4oz for 2 gallons). Do let us know the result, I'm considering this or ONR. ONR in gallon packing is much cheaper compare to 32oz packing.Yeah, if you measure this way, the price is actually the same as ONR. The great thing is that you can easily get TWRF easily in Tesco compared to ONR. |

QUOTE(yuan415 @ Dec 4 2013, 03:40 PM) recently just started my diy detailing and found it is very interesting. bought black and decker kp600 polisher, because it is more gentle for a beginner like me? cause i read a lot review saying rotary polisher might damage car paint so i dont want to take the risk. I do something similar few weeks back but by hand and different products. Before start, it is a bit dull, swirls and scratches mark can be easily pick up by naked eye. After compound, the original color is back and most of the defects are not so visible. The shine will appeared after the coating and wax. You can separate the panel into half and compare the before and after.so my materials are Permanon Platinum pro pack, with brilliantshine shampoo and fusion x3, meguairs quik detailer, meguairs ultimate polish. my process goes like this (wash-clay-wash-polish-platinum coat first layer-fusion x3-platinum coat another layer. i took 7 hours non-stop for an accord but actually what i wanted to achieve is the mirror shine effect, and i am not achieving. is this because of the polishing part? i not dare to go too much for polishing yet because scare it will cause more scratchess. |

I have a car that is park outdoor most of the time. I do wash it regularly , but the window and door rubber trims is drying and hardening. I tried dressing it with normal silicon spray that found at supermarket, but it didn't last long. Is there a better product or solution you know? Thanks.

Never come across my mind to buy 1 DA, as I don't have budget and I'm not that particular to have a perfect car; stone chips and small dents are all over the car. But I like it clean and good water sheeting & beading effect. I never stop cleaning it every week over the pass 5 years.
Yesterday a friend of mine offer his Meg G220 DA that is hardly use for rm600 (without any pad). I'm tempted, need to ask a few question; 1. is this a good price? It is not local purchase. 2. I was told it is rather fool proof but not that powerful as compare to Roft, true? 3. How many kind of pads should I buy for swirls and water marks removal? As it is the only thing i think i will use it for. How much are the pads (mid quality)? Thanks and merry Christmas. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Dec 25 2013, 07:46 PM) Niceyyyy...... Yes, is Rupes not Ruft. Looks more like a job for paintshop....the paint had been scrapped & need to put some new one on. Could do some touch-ups but it'll still look obvious.... My suggestion, try to have a go at it first. A DA vibrates a lot, some can handle it and some can't. But putting that aside, i would say thats a good price cuz a new one retails here for about rm1300 or so. 'Roft'??? What's that? If you mean Rupes Bigfoot then yes, it's not as 'powerful' but still decent enough for some good quality results, with the correct pads and polishes. Pads would cost you around rm50 ~ rm60 for the Lake Country ones. My suggestion, for a start, get 1 x CCS orange light compounding pad, 2 x CCS white polishing pads and 1 x CCS black finishing pad (all 5.5" ones), or at the minimum 1 white and 1 black. Pair them with Megs Ultimate twins ( Ultimate Polish & Ultimate Compound) then you're set for most of the more common medium defects correction works. I will try it out. Thanks for the tips. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Dec 13 2013, 08:11 PM) Normal...for this situation I'd normally start with normal wash with double the shampoo dilution...or mix 1oz of APC into the shampoo mix. I'd also have my spray wax in hand to top up afterwards. At last I found an APC that can use for this, Duragloss Ultimate Orange 462. Dilute 20:1 and put in spray bottle, spray on the dirty area, then just do the normal wash. I can see it is quite clean after wash.Actually the seller told me to do second spray at the roof and hod after wash and dry, then wipe with a dry MF. Haven't try it yet. Anyone use this product before? |

QUOTE(aromachong @ Jan 17 2014, 09:21 AM) hmm can use thinner/tupin to clean too? more effective? Depends which side you want to clean. If you got tint, better don't. or use RAINX that use to clean our windscreen? (guess this will have effect because it's acid) ? I have been using rain x to clean and peel road tax sticker many time, I don't face any problem. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Jan 28 2014, 02:59 PM) Have you ever seen any labels on the bottle/can from any brands of wax that mention DO NOT USE ON WHITE CARS? Well....I haven't....and I've never heard such a thing. Meg do have wax for white paint, never try it before.Maybe what the article meant to say is you couldn't get that deep carnauba-look on a white coloured car when using a carnauba-based waxes, hence not so suitable if that's what you're looking for. If for protection and the rest of other stuffs, I don't think there's any difference whether the colour is white or black...I mean clear coat is clear coat and they're the same regardless what the colour is underneath...... So far I have been using 2 kind of spray waxes, I like the ease of use, ~15min can wax the whole car; Optimum car wax and Duragloss aquawax. Optimum car wax suppose to be carnauba base while DG suppose to be sythetic wax. But I found DG give more dept, gloss, shines and slickness compare to ocw, this is more obvious on my wife's solid red car, my solid white is less obvious. But ocw last much longer than DG, easily 2x. If more rain, DG will wear off even faster, ocw can outlast by 3x. My cars are all park outdoor. |
