It is easy to work with smile.gif

The TSR and FG, I applied it one panel at a time and wiped it off. Easy to wipe off.
The DGPS, I applied it to half of the car, waited 40 mins before wiping off. Also easy to wipe off. It didn't dry or became powdery or harden.
As the DGPS needs 12 hours to fully cure, I could only do the next half of the car the next day.

Nice. USD111 for all that is worth every penny smile.gif

If they are easy to use and can deliver great result, I dun mind paying the premium. The time saving and frustration are worth much more biggrin.gif

Hi guys, normally when you machine polishing the paint, polish/compound dust tend to be all over the paint. How do you tackle this problem especially on panel that haven't been worked on but were full of polishing dust?

Wipe them away with microfiber + QD first? Kinda time consuming ler sweat.gif

If they're 'loose' and you plan to polish the panel, just a gentle swipe (not wipe) on those parts with a plush microfiber cloth before polishing is fine. No need for QD or anything.
*
Thanks for the tips. I guess im just too paranoid sometimes, fearing i might accidentally scratch the paint if simply swipe without QD. Was working on a truck lately and it keeps raining and my DA broke down suddenly when i'm halfway working on the hood. Luckily it's just loose electrical cord sweat.gif Fixed by cutting a few inches and reconnect each wire back to the circuit.

Now the DA cord is around 4 inches shorter cry.gif

Osren do not carry that type unfortunately. They only have the LC duo spur type.

Hmm, is the Mother's detailing brush gentle enough to be used for foam pad cleaning? I still got 2 new in packaging one.

Hi guys, any idea how to remove this type of stain? I suspect it's caused by dried chemical on the surface.

Looks like some kind of oil stain?

Tried to clay yet?
*
It's not oil stain. The stain is caused by the previous detailer and i think it could be a dried degreaser or apc. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll to clay it 1st and see if it goes away or not.

QUOTE(g88 @ Mar 23 2014, 10:53 PM)
i believe the surface is coating with matte paint, be very careful if you wanna polish it...coz might easily strip off the paintwork
*
Yea man, it's matte finish. Really got to be extra careful to not ruin the finish sweat.gif

Did some minor paint correction on this beast last weekend. Now my body is aching. Detailing a normal sized sedan don't seem so intimidating anymore now sweat.gif

Between the DeWalt and the Makita, which one is heavier?

I have both and they weigh about the same. Official specs also say they both weighs at 3kg. Just that the DeWalt's weight is more balanced (if you know what I mean) and the Makita is built like a tank and a proven work horse.

Thanks for the info mate. How about the noise level? I heard from a friend that the DeWalt is quite loud.

Here we go. This was during one of those gathering that we had. Comparing the few machines. Courtesy from one of the kakis.

There is not really a NEED for the grit guard. But it saves that little hassle that you'd need to go through tho......
Yes it has the soft start. But a little different from the Makita. This DeWalt got a little more torque so it got that initial 'jerk' (like when you lift off a stiff/short clutch on a car) before it slowed back down. When it's in rev, then it's all well like the Makita.

Thanks for the cool video mate! Seems to me the makita is more pleasing to my ear (althou not exactly quiet) tongue.gif

@scoutfai Congrats on the purchase! It's every man's wet dream... jk biggrin.gif

Anyway, is the machine suitable for prolonged usage like more than 2 hours non stop cleaning the house compound?

Ok bro I help you email Karcher Malaysia and here is the feedback.
The K5.700 is designed for home use and recommended continuously nonstop operating duration is about 1hrs.
For continuously nonstop (emphasize here, nonstop, mean the trigger never let go) longer than 1hr, they recommend the light industrial use pressure washer model HD7/11-4C.

user posted image

Although it looks giant in size, but the max pressure is only 110 bar. It is electric motor. I think the strength is lies in its durability for long term usage, because it uses crankshaft pump to pressurize the water, which is a much more durable design by nature. Another being the flow rate. K5.700 is only maximum 460 L/h, this one maximum is 700L/h.

Remark that not recommended does not mean cannot. Like what @jchue73 has tried himself, 2hrs continuously no issue. it is just means that it is not the original design intention.
*
Hey bro, thanks so much for the valuable info! HD7/11-4C is a little too hardcore for household usage I suppose haha.

Still prefer the look of the K 5.700. Not too big, just nice smile.gif

Cool, haha. I actually saw the HD7/11-4C at the local shop here yesterday and man it was huge. Forgot the price, if not mistaken, i think close to 3k.

Anyway, instead of picking up the monster power washer, I ter-bought

Can't wait to try it out biggrin.gif

Oh wait, I only have 5.5" pads now. Have to burn wallet for new backing plate again sweat.gif

No harm using 5.5" pads with the rotary. Of course, a bigger pad is faster, but I find no issues with the 5.5" pads on a rotary.
*
Yea, actually I mean to get a new 5.5" BP to use my existing 5.5" pads. The supplied BP is of 6.5"
