I have exactly the same products in my shelf !! But mine is paste wax.
Been using the Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax for some weeks already, just the wax alone does not really bead or sheet amazingly.
Sonax BSD and rim coating nanopro still on my shelf not open yet, got to wait I finish up my Meguiar's UQW first.
Personally I like sheeting more so I am expecting satisfying result from BSD. Look forward to try it.

I am looking forward to get the same effect on my ride like yours after using BSD  thumbup.gif

Oh man very sorry to see your rock chips. W XXXX H  registration plate some more indicates very new car less than a year.
Why can't rock just stay on the ground.

So what you going to do with these rock chip damages?
*
i think the wax is more towards focused on protection.

i noticed if you use the touching test method, the BSD will have squeaks and doesn't have that smooth feeling that the ULW (or UPW) gives.
granted, the UQW topping off the ULW does provide really awesome beads while ULW alone doesn't really does that much.

that and i've noticed the wax can really absorb/protect dirt/dust before it reaches the clear coat or even messing up the glaze underneath.
(refer to the doodle google plus post i've made, where my friends doodled' on the car when it was very dusty)
or even the random cat paws pushing dust/dirt around as it trampled all over my car.

i think it's been debated/discussed many a times that, beading/sheeting isn't the be all end all when it comes to protection. and the thicker/waxier/smoother feel of the ULW will attest to that despite having inferior beading/sheeting qualities.

personally i don't think i'd wait for my UQW to finish, i still love the east of application and the water beading of it wink.gif

and it's ok, i've come to terms that speeding and detailing aren't the best of friends and i have to embrace it's shortcomings if i were to continue dealing with both.
that's what you get for going over 200kph a lot wink.gif

and nah, not going to do anything.
maybe after a few months i'll do another full detailing project again to compound/polish everything.

Thanks for the valuable input man.
Then I think I should target at the PW that is same as your model at least.

When you said gas powered PW, do you mean those air compressor tank that we usually saw in tyre shop?
Any hardcore amateur detailer here having such a machine at your home for personal use? tongue.gif

I agree that Meguiar's Ultimate Wax strength is at its durability not its water beading/sheeting ability, at least so far that is my observation.

You actually want to type Sonax BSD but mistakenly type Meguiar's UQW?

nope, UQW will bead better and is much easier to apply than sonax BSD.

it's hard to bead/bead uniformly when water is just sheeting off smile.gif
and UQW feels smoother on the surface while BSD will squeak sweat.gif

Actually I find it rather ... funny.

During water rationing, does it means that if someone use less water, those guys without water will get water supply faster?

Also, you use water you pay... If you use less water, SYABAS will pay you back ke?

I'm just curious why it is so obvious that it was their mistake, but someone else have to suffer?????

Anyway, I just washed my car .... with water. biggrin.gif

Now the haze is back, with the occasional rain, it makes your car dirty much faster.

Outside is a Styrofoam and inside is a cage made from the house door grill. And YES... inside those layers of protection lies my pressure washer. Lazy to bring out so many tools , so fixed everything on the wall.lol. I even modified the hose so it is long enough to wash the porch too.just switch on power and water and shoot away.

Hi, there were some corrosive bird droppings on the car and i tried to use polish/wax/scratch remover to get rid of it but it became worst (there might be fine dust on the cloth too i guess). Any suggestions on how to remove the fine scratches? Although it's not so obvious and can been seen at certain angles only, i feel sad tongue.gif

Gas / engine powered type of power washers are rare and expensive and bloody powerful. Up to 200 barg pressure delivery. rclxub.gif

Your paint and tires will also dilaminate.

They have wheels on it. No problem to shift it around if you have the space.

LOL

Actually by right, nobody can stop you from doing anything you wish to the water that you pay. The only thing that will stop you to consider and pull you back is your own CONSCIENCE.

We know as with all things bad, it's bad management and that's why we still live in Malaysia. sweat.gif

I saw a friend's house before that had a power washer permanently fixed onto a corner with the tap. And that's how I got the idea to get myself one actually. But mine's not in a fixed position. Even though the K.5700 has a 9m hose (which I like), I still need it to be mobile to reach places like high windows and gutters.

Anyway, these power washers are water cooled but still aren't you afraid of overheating the power washer with that kind of enclosure?

Those fine swirl is very easy to get rid off if you have the right tools.

A cheap and quick solution if you already have a normal drill is to get the small 125mm Bosch sponge that looks like this;

user posted image

Ace Hardware sells them for RM 23 if I'm not wrong. It comes packaged in a box.

Attach to the end of a drill bit (spinning motion, not in hammer mode), put a few drops of Meguairs Swirl X, Scratch X or Ultimate Polish Compound on the sponge and polish on the surface that has those fine scratches.

Be careful not to over do it. No excessive force required. Control the speed of the rotation with the the drill trigger. After running over the surface back and forth for 10 to 15 seconds, stop and check to see the condition of the scratches. Repeat a few times when required.

I personally use this method when I'm doing localised spot correction and don't want to mess with bringing out the RB. Some times if not careful, a big and powerful tool like the RB can do more damage that is not intended when you just need a simple solution.

I actually got the Meguairs DA Power System. Expensive but ok lar if you want to do small spot correction. But the correction power is slower because it's a DA.

https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JasonLimQuazac...sts/PsYqDy76bak Had a LOT of fun with Sonax soft top/fabric water proof impregnation biggrin.gif Videos soon tongue.gif

tried out the trim restorer thingies too from sonax (lol all bought from their sales)
the matt effect apple scent smells damn good, and doesn't feel slippery/oily and what not.

had it applied everywhere on my car, gear knobs steering etc.
while the glossy effect i only applied on the panel behind the rear seat head rest, and the front dashboard biggrin.gif

will snap some pictures for the trim detailing soon hehe.

i am a victim of such "property damage" almost every week without fail.

it's not the cloth that caused this, it's the bird droppings. next time if you have something like that, first wet a lump of tissue and then just leave it over the droppings. let it gets soft before you wipe off gently, try to prevent any hard pressure on the paint. the bird droppings sometimes have hard particles in them in which if you just wipe them off (applying pressure) will cause scratches like these.

black paints are prone to things like this.

and since i have a black new car, i keep a small bottle of UQD (with kleenex tissue papers lol) in the car (sifu Krismas advised me too late on more proper QD's sweat.gif ) for bird dropping, bugs/tars before they harden/etch/damage the clear coat wink.gif
