Just wanted to ask the same question regarding the water rationing crisis.
On one side, to be a citizen, we should share the responsibility with the rest of the people in this indecent time.
On another side, hell no I feel so guilty to myself to put less care on my ride.

Some radio DJ comments use washing machine left over water to wash car. I was like "great, and strip all the essential oily substance from your clear coat and dull your paint".

I have a bottle of Optimum No Rinse Wash (ONR), bought from Detailien last time, haven have chance to use it myself as washing medium but just as claying lubricant.

I think is time I put it to test. I have used Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax (UWW) before but not as washing entire car, just to wipe on localized panel area when I spot some dirt after I parked my car. I think is a good chance to try this waterless wash method also.

Right now Aeon having member card sale till 3rd of March, nationwide, all Meguiar's product 10% discount, one UWW cost about RM70+ original price, can consider get one for those who are interested.
TurtleWax rinseless wash should be on sale in Aeon too. Those who cant get ONR can try TurtleWax.

Last but not least, KrisMas got any rinseless or waterless wash in your product list?

In summary, I think we need to share the responsibility of using less water. But have to be creative and dare to try new, more water efficient washing method this time. I believe detailer/car enthusiast  does not necessary equals large water waster.

Last week tried ONR with 4 mf towel. After wash the car is clean, shinning and sleek, put a layer of Aquawax, it looks really stunning.
But I noticed the mf is full of stains and black, very hard to clean up. I have to use more washing powder and soak a few days. I guess that is the function of ONR.

It used to be a problem with the older version of ONR. I have not tried ONR v3, but my experience with ONR Wash and Wax(the green stuff, not the blue ones) is that the MFs release dirt a lot easier when washing than the old ONR v2 that I have.

I tried to build a foam gun and FAILED cry.gif

I tried to build myself a foam gun that attaches to a regular garden hose like the Gilmour Foammaster 2.

I assemble the kit from ACE Hardware, comprises of 2 things; 1) solution bucket 2) hose gun.

2 parts of the kit

Once assemble it look this.

However it did not produce any foam, just water. On their website it showed foam!

I have a hunch why it's not working but does anyone know why? More importantly how to make it work?

Thanks in a million.

I don't know about others, but I think DIY Detailers use way less water compared to Carwash tepi jalan. I only wash my car 3 somethimes 4 weeks once with proper water and car shampoo. The rest of the time QD and Quik Wax.

3 to 4 weeks only wash once? Wah... notworthy.gif

First step to conserve water without sacrificing the cleanliness of your car....use a pressure washer. It consume far less water than normal garden hose. Not to mention it could also clean your tyres, wheel wells and the underbody far more effectively than using normal hose+chemicals+brush.

scoutfai I do have some rinseless in my stash...but they're my personal ones and not for sale....hehehe....sorry, DG rinseless aren't in my friend's list also....
*
You're right. Pressure washer uses less water. But the impression you give your neighbours when you use a pressure washer is that it uses lots of water with all that noise and water splash. biggrin.gif

I got the same bottle (RM 40 or 50++) but never modified it like you did. Did not venture further since I got a real one from Ebay to fit on my pressure washer.

Maybe insufficient soap dilution or air? Soap mixture too dilute? Ever tried just using concentrated soap with the highest mixture ratio to see if foam is produced?

Never tried using a pressure washer before. Lesson learnt. Thought it going to use more water since from outside looking it seems flowing more water out of the noozle at high speed.

But PW not cheap leh. So many type in the market, different pressure and power rating. What type would be a good one for car enthusiast?

So you bought the same bottle with crashhog, his one didn't work, does yours one works?

I am curious about the internal component of foam gun. Is it possible to dismantle your machine and show some internal components pic? Do not really understand how it produces foam.

+1 for TurtleWax Rinseless car wash. Really impressive. The thing is that your MF will be very tough to wash at the end.

Forget about the 'foamer' in ACE. I've tried 3 types: the gilmore, the one shown above and another one which is for cleaning windows or something. What came out was something more like a soap mix (which is what they're suppose to be) instead of foam.

Foam lance internal parts looks like this:

I think the part that contributed the most for the foam is the one in the red square. It's some sort of compacted metal mesh.

Anyway, you can see the actual parts here.

Here's the one from Gilmore...the one that connects to normal garden hose...

You can find the Gilmore foam gun/foamaster at Osren or Duragloss Malaysia. Those are the two places that I know of that sells them.

Yeah, that's why hard to believe eh? If you take out the lance and just use the handle, you can see the water going through the handle unit when the power washer is on is very little. You'll be amazed.

Not cheap. I use it to clean other stuff as well and that's why justified. laugh.gif Mine's the Karcher K5.700.

Dare not open it up. But I think it's a trick of pushing enough air inside the nozzle to make up the required foam. The air is the one that a power washer is capable of producing.

Yeah, I believe I have somewhat the same one for my Karcher.

After a few tries I gave up on the wannabees and went for the real one.

Will try and look for the turtlewax rinseless wash. Speaking about washing microfibre cloth and power washer, I use power washer to clean my mircofibre cloths after each car wash. Most of the time soap is not required. Safe a lot of water and elbow grease but need to be careful if too powerful, microfibre cloth will tear at the edges.

The air compressor one is the Tornador. Maybe you should give them a call or PM the guy in fb. I'm a little unsure now....but I'm definitely sure Duragloss Malaysia has it cuz it's in their web.

FYI, Jusco in 1u for Turtlewax is having discount 20%, and others brands as well, you may try have a look from there. Besides, I have go down to car accessories shop (beside foot court, forgot the name), there is no discount at all, but they have promotion for Turtle brand of products by displaying outside near counter..

May I know Kit and Turtle, which one is good for Wax??

Actually the only issue with rinseless liquid is streaking.

But krismas told me this : Meguairs D114

Would love to try it, but not sure if locally available.

If you find the video in youtube, they actually have it in spray bottle. But they didn't mentioned anything on the dilution ratio.

I think the one in spray bottle is the other one, the Meguiar's D115 Rinse Free Express Wash & Wax, but, I could be wrong. Though, both D114 and D115 is not available locally thru the distributor. They only imported a very small limited batch for test run. I guess, they don't see the point of rinseless washes in Malaysia where water is cheap.
