it is tougher for sure.

but if you treat your lens nicely, don't abuse them, don't use in rain, don't drop or bang the lens, any lens will last many years easily.

thats a problem...firstly malaysia always rain...second....i want to take rainy day's scene leh icon_question.gif

Hi bros, just got my Nikon D7000 and a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens not long ago.
Loving it so far, has a lot more options and much to learn compared to any DSLRs I used previously thumbup.gif
Here are some quick shots laugh.gif

I got one question though - what lighting do you use for product photoshoot? White table lamp with diffuser or just a piece of paper?

You might want to look at the video above! biggrin.gif

Hope it helped! What you might want to look at when it comes to light, would you want a soft or hard light, shadows do play an important role too! biggrin.gif

This is my 1st product shoot, I just use A4 paper lay around, using sunlight from the window.. IMO white paper works because it reflect.. sadly I don't have enough hand or human power or tripod to hold another paper on the left side.. rclxub.gif

basically, if you are on budget or lazy to set up, sunlight and A4 paper is your best friend.. icon_idea.gif

Wow thanks for the feedback guys thumbup.gif
I thought using a table lamp with some diffuser light might work, but my IKEA table lamp emits yellow light sweat.gif

@Calvin Seak I did watch that video before XD Hilarious, but great pics nonetheless

here's a quick pixel peeping for the tamron 70-200 f2.8 macro lens.

70 mm sample 100% crop.
f2.8
f4
f8

200mm sample 100% crop.
f2.8
f4
f8

all i can say is at 70mm f2.8, that lens is sharp already, at f4 it's crazy sharp.

at 200mm f2.8, it's not that sharp, with a little bit of softness, still very good imo, same thing happens at f4, it's crazy sharp.

all shots are converted from raw without any sharpening applied.

also uploaded all of them in full size at my flickr.

Bought it already? Ahhh.... I jelly! I want that magnesium body! Good luck, man! Looking forward for your shots, we can learn about product shots from you too.

Spam for today.
It was raining all day long, and the wind is soo strong too. Hence, you can find most bugs hiding on the leaves. Perfect time to shoot.
Another species of wasp. Now I found 4 species of wasps already. laugh.gif

Haha! I still do landscape, but hardly get the chance because of monsoon. But that would still be Nat Geo type, I guess. laugh.gif

Don't think its a wasp though haha, wasps have very slender and thin "waist" connecting the thorax to the abdomen hmm.gif
Probably a type of bee/hornet

Hi everyone, i saw a used nikon afs 80-200mm which is selling around rm2.95k, should i get it or get the brand new tamron 70-200 non vc which is slightly cheaper? My concern about getting the 80-200 is the possibility of autofocus failure. Or should i save more and get a used nikon 70-200mm vri but that would take longer. thanks.
