Pos Malaysia is alright. My parents sent 10kg parcel without any problems.

How much did '10kg' cost to UK? How fast was the shipment?

... which ironically, if a lecturer in msia do not spoonfeed, he/she will be labeled incompetent and incapable of teaching. believe me, i've tasted that end of the stick tongue.gif

Exactly... if you don't provide everything to them, students will complain you and you might have problem in promotion...

depends on when ur flight is, liew. MAS is notoriously being NOT the cheapest airline to msia. most of the time, i'd go for emirates or a few other middle eastern airlines. sri lankan airlines is quite cheap too, but they have crappy services which my friend dubbed as "standard bas ekspres kat malaysia" hahaha. but it IS quite cheap though.

try these sites:

http://www.cheapflights.co.uk
http://www.flightcomparison.co.uk
http://www.travelsupermarket.com

these are my top three sites to find flights...

Pardon me for asking, Don't the airlines offer students fare for those going over to UK to study? What about STA site, they claim to be offering students fare. Not sure whether they have any office in MY. I can find it from SG office. The last time, I got student's fare through the press flying KLM to Amsterdam and transiting at the same airport one way to Birmingham, UK. Of course, depends on where you are flying too. Its kind of standard features as what I know.. but now sure it is still now.. By the way, I am from SG.

Went to submit my my visa today, man it was a long day. Went there at 7.45 before they opened at 8, and there were so many already waiting outside the door. Managed to get #33, and i was only done at 1pm! Lots of guys don't bring the proper documents/certified copies or fill the forms wrongly and make the numbers move so slow..

So my advise to anyone is know what you have to submit, check the VFS websites, make copies where applicable and the VFS checklist is for them to tick, not you! (You can have your own copy if you want)

And please complete your form. i See so many ppl go with empty hand and starting filling form when their q time reach. Really terrible ppl!!

I actually went there for 2 consecutive days which is wed and today, the first day was horrible as i have reached there at 8am and got myself no. 45 waiting got damn long for my turn, and yea, the female guard is got damn cocky. I wonder why we wouldn't allowed to use ipod inside as i have been warned to take it off as well. Ironically, the utters es inside the room is even louder than my god damn Ipod volume. doh.gif

Managed to learned my lesson on weds i have decided to go early, today, reached there at 7.15 and manages to get no. 28, everything went well and i got off at 11am. One of the problem i have seen is that most of the students didn't complete filling their forms and have to do it on the spot there which causes us further delays.

Another thing i do realized is that there are quite a handful of students there carrying a LV bag. wink.gif

what do u mean "class of honour"? or do u mean classification of degrees? (eg 1st class, 2nd upper etc)

classification of degree is based on individual universities. in sheffield generally, it's based on 2nd year (30%) and 3rd year (70%) only. 1st year is not counted.

the sheffield system is quite now and have not been adapted by the general academic community. heck, i came to realize that it's not even entirely used in sheffield, just on certain courses that have different emphasize on education. the system is conducted for courses that require experience and vocational rather than reading.

other courses not using this system uses the standard CGPA system which u accumulate from 1st year to the final year.

yes, true. Airlines do offers student fare, but there will have a lot limitations.. So what i did is last year, there was an airlines doing some promotions, return ticket (open for 1 year) only cost Rm3200. Beside student ticket only save Rm120++ with extra 10kg and you will need to follow a lot of rules. So try to check with travel agent is there any promotion ticket, then probably you will save some of your money.
Beside usually flight from Malaysia or Singapore will arrive at Heathrow airport... If you want to save some money, you can take coach or train from heathrow (if you fly to heathrow) but this will takes longer time....

azarimy, thanks for the link smile.gif
