guys, im wondering,, why no mechanical keyboard with million colours of led, we can change it as what we like
*
You need to understand how is backlit being achieved in mech kb.

There are a small holes on each switches for LED mounting. The max dimension for the LED is 3mm wide. Anything bigger will not fit in and will result your keycaps to hit the LED.

because the switch can use 3mm led only and all mkb pcb have 2 lubang for led only.
for the multicolour led, need to have at least 3 pins, some have up to 4 pins. i haven't seen any 3mm led with multicolour change (except for the 7 colour auto colour rotation ones) that has only 2 pins.

but there's a way to mod the board so that u can hot-swap leds without having to desolder it smile.gif
still...i was wondering whether the LED will be able to sit on the 18b20 pins properly without falling off?

there the f104 keycaps DS PBT backlit one... same as the deck's iinw
*
Same maker, same material, same method.

But different font, and different refinement. As you can see back on the Deck's keycaps I posted earlier, they purposely made the part under the legends to be transparent, resulting a far better light transparency than the one on F-104. The one on the F-104 didn't had the purposely made doubleshot which made only white part under the legends, resulting only partial backlit.

hmm...the f104's doubleshot pbt keycaps isn't really a proper backlit keycaps.
the light is really dim as the molding is not properly distributed well for the light to get through to the words nicely.

those are pre-soldered leds onto boards that has holes for 3 or 4 pin led already.

I've tried both re-seating and replacing it with the optional spacebar. Will it probably go away as I wear the keyboard in?
Might be the grease. It's only 5 days old. Should I go back to the shop and complain? hmm.gif

oh god this thread is growing so fast that I now stopped reading back..

anyway, I'm planning to do so soldering work on my POKER1.

I don't think I would do a lot soldering in the future, so any recommendation that
1. get someone with good tools to mod
or
2. buy cheap tools and mod myself..

I think it is quite good, which made even the guy who coming up with the idea of modular switch adopting to the design.

The stock one on F-104 is a tad (1mm) shorter than standard spacebar.

That resulting F-104 to come with a stucky spacebar by default. That applied to my own black switch unit.

But for some reason, the one on your brown seem to be functioning perfectly fine even with the short stock spacebar. Made me quite confused, LOL. Hadn't try to see if the white/standard spacebar can fit on or not.

the one in bolded...one word for it... JANGAN!
getting cheap tools will result in higher risk of damaging the board or burning down your house in extreme cases.
either get someone to do it for u, or get good proper tools with a lot of research and watch videos regarding soldering and desoldering. also, practice doing on dummy pcbs or buy some cheap engineering project kit and get hands on experience.
