QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Nov 22 2013, 02:38 PM) Not yet, but I pretty sure the 2shot backlit pbt on Deck is made by same maker of ds PBT of Vortex/KBC.Deck, Vortex, KBC and even Ducky are greatly related to one another. |

QUOTE(silrave @ Nov 22 2013, 02:57 PM) thx for all information ps/2 is the interface of connecting kb to PC. Not all kb with ps/2 connectors are mechanical though. B4 the use of ps/2, din5 is used, and b4 that there are other type of connector used.for my first impression the mecha keyboard give me feel like go back primary school i using those ps/2 keyboard xD sry not to insult other ppl hmm mecha keyboard it have 4 kind of typing feel and it dont have any funny features like multimedia keyboard / gaming keyboard correct me if i am wrong T T i think so far rosewill k9000 is suit me cause within budget and is full size keyboard but if i get brown next time i wanna change blue is it possible? Generally, back then in 80/90's, most keyboard is mechanical. As PC become more and more affordable, they had to do cost cutting on keyboards too, resulted the birth of rubberdome. Nope, mech kb not necessary only 4 types or typing feel. Mech kb can be using Cherry MX, ML, Alps, Buckling spring and bla bla bla, many more mechanism. Each having their own typing feel. Modern mech kb you found in the market now is mostly using Cherry MX switches, which having 4 types of mainstream switches, namely blue, red, black and brown. Again, each is different from another. There are also cherry mx clear, green, grey, milk, and bla bla, many more, but they are less likely to be seen on mass market keyboard out there. Changing of switches involving finding replacement switches, desoldering and resoldering. If you think it is easy/economical to do so, then the answer is yes, you can change them. If you think it is too much hassle, then you better sell existing board and buying a new one. |

QUOTE(justnits @ Nov 22 2013, 02:37 PM) below RM300, locally u can get Ducky Zero or Rosewill RK9000, but most of us here would recommend u to go RK9000 for a new unit within that budget range. yea agree with u if u are more adventurous and can stretch ur budget a bit more, get ikbc f104 as mentioned by our 016 brother. that is great build keyboard for a mid-range with excellent value for money due to it's top quality keycaps material and "acceptable" design/font (and u get 1 more set of 104 keycaps for FREE!) gaming mecha's price is high because of gimnicks and brand name. (kinda like buying overpriced nike shoe that comes with poor quality) other mecha keyboard's price is high (or low) because they focus more on build quality and using standard layout. all gaming mecha keyboard will have this fate. some normal mecha keyboard with stock backlit will also suffer this same fate. ![]() this is what most normal mecha keyboard can do. ![]() little to no restrictions in modding keycaps design! almost all after market keycaps will be suitable for normal mecha keyboard! but if it's gaming mecha keyboard. u may change the keycaps with after market keycaps. but u'll face problem at the CTRL WINKEY ALT SPACEBAR row. because 90% of gaming mecha keyboards comes with non-standard layout. so the aftermarket keycaps set wouldn't be able to fit in. u'll need to compromise here n there or get novelty 1x size keycaps for winkey n fn. and probably mixture of 1.25x modifier and 1.5x modifier, depending on the board's layout. my side winder x4 got few key also like that oh ya my fren told me the mecha keyboard they are printed or what laser on every keycap so it wont hilang the word is it true? wah lot mecha keyboard pengsan lol so far in my list K9000 ,Ducky Zero DK2108S corsair K70 like not bad...but over my budget > < ducky shinny series very expensive T T gonna sell off my collection alienware tact x keyboard for mecha keyboard T T |

QUOTE(silrave @ Nov 22 2013, 03:09 PM) yea agree with u One of the beauty of mech kb is there are options for replacement keycaps for it.my side winder x4 got few key also like that oh ya my fren told me the mecha keyboard they are printed or what laser on every keycap so it wont hilang the word is it true? wah lot mecha keyboard pengsan lol so far in my list K9000 ,Ducky Zero DK2108S corsair K70 like not bad...but over my budget > < ducky shinny series very expensive T T gonna sell off my collection alienware tact x keyboard for mecha keyboard T T Generally, there are 5 types of methods for font printing on keyboard out there, namely pad printing, laser (with infill), engraved, dye sub and doubleshot. Again, like what I stated in above, the born of the 1st two printing method is due to the phenomena of PC becoming more affordable over years. Those 2 printing methods are fairly durable and suitable to be used on a mass scale, hence almost all kb currently out there in the market are using those 2 printing methods. A thing to take note is for backlit keycaps, it is made by coating a transparent/translucent white keycaps with black coating, laser lasered off some coating to make the legends. For the later 3, it is pretty much exclusive to mech kb due to the niche market and high cost and price. Back on your story, the short answer will be no, not all mech kb using dye-sub/doubleshot keycaps that had virtually unlimited lifespan. Most mass market mech kbs are still using pad printing/lasered. Almost all gaming mech keyboards there are using lasered keycaps, where the backlit one using laser on coated keycaps. Pad printing and lasered keycaps are quite easy to be worn out after prolonged use. At your budget, I will say go for Rosewill RK9000 then, it is a good keyboard. |

QUOTE(renishi @ Nov 22 2013, 12:42 PM) my bad, it doesnt respond to my click Here is it.Flashing firmware?? mine is stock since i bought it... and how do u actually flash a fw into a mech kb? Though, I will say I am not responsible for any loss if you brick your kb in the process, I simply recompile it from china's forum. Flash it at your own responsibility.
