oh god this thread is growing so fast that I now stopped reading back..

anyway, I'm planning to do so soldering work on my POKER1.

I don't think I would do a lot soldering in the future, so any recommendation that
1. get someone with good tools to mod
or
2. buy cheap tools and mod myself..

the one in bolded...one word for it... JANGAN!
getting cheap tools will result in higher risk of damaging the board or burning down your house in extreme cases.
either get someone to do it for u, or get good proper tools with a lot of research and watch videos regarding soldering and desoldering. also, practice doing on dummy pcbs or buy some cheap engineering project kit and get hands on experience.

uh.. okay.. guess I'll get someone to work on it doh.gif

Nope.

I suggest him to avoid cherry profile for dat he isn't changing fullset. It will be weird to mix both oem stock keycaps with cherry profile.

Regarding the POM part, some chinaboards (namely keycool, kbc and plu) are having tight POM. The ok one is rare, such as official cherry or plum's one.

In his condition, he seeking for blank cap, which so far the ok one (POM) didn't offer (except you manage to special order official cherry one unprinted). As he is still beginner, so I suggested him to simply avoid it.

For the vortex RGB, yar the printing sucks, but at least, it is still pbt, which is far superior than most oem boards' offer.

So in short, my suggestion is valid enough. I gave suggestion based on his requirements and needs, rather than suggesting what is the best he can get.

Somehow I agree with this.. it takes time to explain all those things that only some of us would understand... so better off give them the balance of the best of what they want instead of what we think the best

Recheck my previous post, edited a lot of it.

BTW, I think is one is worth it, reliable seller, new or almost new condition.

Or if you are still too skeptical to spend over RM300-400 for a old keyboard from taobao, try this, the sale record are quite a lot.

thanks for the recommendation... but where to buy? also... doesnt seem to have media buttons? wat about palm rest?
budget... dont know.. as i dont really know the price range of mkb and the diff between the switches etc.
so far the G710+ looks to be awesome... although the G keys are a welcome addition.. not really something i want as ill be buying the G13 as well....
ive always hated those "integrated" keys where u have to press those FN keys... absolutely hate them hahahahha
palmrest buy separately? dafuq? those that need to buy separately definitely out of the question... this basic item should have been included in the box and having to buy them separately is just....a bad bad bad bad thing in my book. heh

thanks for the heads up on K70... seems to have everything i want... but price wise.. fooh... like better if i buy G710+ for more features! hahahaha...
thanks... palm rest purchase separately... bleh... how much is the palm rest anyway?
more recommendations welcomed... keep em coming if anyone has any ideas.

I have to say, based on your requirements.. what you can get are those mainstream all-in-one gaming keyboard such as corsair, logitech g710+, etc...

a proper mech keyboard would either integrate the media buttons or not including them at all.. just a pure basic typing machine. same goes to the wrist rest, you get to buy whatever you see fit your wrist and wallet.
