I used to be part of PETRONAS and now am working for PETRONAS (as in my client). I know and met many of them; long time friends to technicians. there r some who I used to think "how come this fellow dapat masuk?", but eventually it came to me that, even if we see him/her is not competent enuf, it is fated and the best for them, so y bitter? just because they got higher pay, it doesn't deprive ours, so even la...

Yes don't "touching2"...there are a lot more companies out there that paying more than petronas plus better working environment...just don't quite hunting....

I have worked in Petronas before,If we take into account only Malaysians..... when people from 1 particular ethnicity account to about 90%-95% .
You just k-n-o-w something is very wrong somewhere

After a 2 year wait, I've just been told that I've been shortlisted for SI.

So, the waiting game begins now?

Patience is something of a luxury to me right now because my current company is looking to bond me for 5 years.

I simply don't put high hope on that. sadly, PETRONAS still think that people are badly nak masuk. thus, the waiting game. so, just chillex, enjoy. if call up for the SI, then prepare, layan je...don't put high hope, but do ur best. at least u've satisfied urself, that was what I did.

As for me, this is the first time I've gotten positive feedback from and oil and gas company.

yes, i agree with you. i go to the graduan aspire also. but i skip the petronas booth. they dont take your resume, and what the touchscreen tablet do is just their survey after all. I know because petronas do the same when jobstreet career fair in midvalley before they also do this. still, people go make a queue in a long line, just like when there's hello kitty or minion doll in mcdonalds people queue also. Although you can say you can boycott them, but there is no use. people still coming and queue. mcm mcdonald.

in my opinion, the only one who got the higher chances is the one with the engineering background related to drilling, technician and all sorts of related to the petroleum (be it geoscience bla bla bla..which you definitely have to plan earlier when you go to universities), because at least i see one guy manage to gave his resume, and based on what I peek, his degree is engineer petroleum something something.

in my opinion, if you degree is not quite related to what I say just now, you might have to skip petronas and go find another company. mine is not related to any that i say just now. but i foolishly believe that I stand a chance to get to petronas, even the chit chat session. but after all this years, i think i just pass

I asked questions, and yea.. Drilling and geoscience is paling valuable but widest scope MechEng.
And yea l, I saw the resumes summe rejected on the spot. I dengar, "sori ah, lebih baik kau register and hantar cv online. Sini nanti summe hilang." but they did accept some. Hmmmm

i have almost 5 years (this october) in oil n gas industry.
however HR petronas still consider me to have 4 years experience. *so sad*.
they wanna give me salary the same as i have today since they said that is the standard for 4years.
please enlighten me on their benefit.
which grade is suitable for 4years exp like me?
i am still clueless on the grade.

can someone please explain
