Hye everyone...

Will I be blacklisted for not attending or rejecting the invitation for the TA? sad.gif

I've made agree to be attending the TA scheduled to be this 28feb2014 (of my choice, since they made me choose 27 or 28feb). They will only give me the details later (after I've replied the date of the interview). So far, no job title, no nothing.

the only detail that I know of is that the email was from the HRM-GTS.

Anyone went for the TA at this dept before? icon_question.gif

Hi all,

First of all, thanks to everyone who posted so much info on Petronas. This was the place where I always refer to before attending interviews with Petronas. And alhamdulillah i've received the offer letter from Petronas (Technology and Engineering).

Am in the midst of negotiating the salary with the HR (of course you can't negotiate the benefit), appreciate if experts here can help. Am not sure whether this has been asked previously, but can someone let me know what would be the salary range for someone who has 5 years of experience? I've been offered grade G02, most probably will be dealing with non-technical stuff and from discussions with HR, they told me typically the salary increase that they usually offer to new staff would be in the range of 15-17%. I find it difficult to accept that fact, so hopefully you guys can assist me.

Thanking you in advance!
Cheers! happy.gif

waa...only that much? so, anyone here know anything of such grade? (5yrs exp) - in the same boat.

Hi guys,

I need to submit the Declaration Form with related docs to Petronas HR through email (softcopy). I have some questions regarding this. Which type of docs that I need to submit?

1. Scanned version of my original certificates
2. or Scanned version of my certificates copy (certified true copy)

And usually when is the due date for this documents submission? a week or two weeks after we were contacted?
*
is this for the TA interview? because I only need to revert the declaration form. other copy of certs/docs are to be CTC and brought with the originals during the interview session.

This is for the SI. My friends who are now in Petronas claimed the same thing too; submit the docs during the interview session. My case is different though.

Go to this website

http://www.discoverpetronas.com/

Create your profile and then submit your CV ... also have a look at available position http://www.discoverpetronas.com/applynow/search.aspx

Good Luck

if this is for me, I really appreciate it. but so sorry for the miscomm, "ctc" was actually "certified true copy" not "contact". brows.gif

i'll be attending the TA this coming Friday, and still not knowing the position (at least); I cant reach the HR like forever - email bounced (inbox full) and phonecalls str8 into machine. flex.gif

How was your interview? Do you mind to share you experience?
*
sure - I wanted to share it yesterday, but gosh, I missed my flight back to Kuantan! doh.gif so, I slept on the benches at KLIA and got on the next flight yesterday...what an experience. hahaa...ok, enuf about me.

anywy, there were 5 candidates for Mechanical (Piping) position. They got 5 each for every other dept as well (MCI - I guess this is material corrosion, IC - instrument control and Mechanical (Static).

I was the last to get in, literally - 5:20pm flex.gif the HR and the interviewer kept apologizing for I had to wait that long - but definitely OK with me.

Since the session was running late, they kinda speed up things. there were 2 panels.

it was really a chit chat session at the beginning - relaxed mode.

then the real session started; brows.gif

1. introduce urself - just about ur self, if u have working exp, just save it for later - there is a dedicated question along the way.
2. they will guide u with simple questions
3. technical part - they asked for what u actually do - how do u conduct/plan ur tasks
4. technical question - since my applied position is piping - the question was about piping; material, wall thickness calculation -

# ps: if u don't know or don't do anything they ask, just say NO. it's completely OK. like myself, I don't do wall thickness calc (since my job related to brownfield (modifications - no need to design new piping), so I just say no - but I took extra effort to prepare - tried to write but missed the formula by a component - they say, it's all good. icon_rolleyes.gif

5. what code and standards u referred to - ASMEs, APIs, PTS ( at least mention basics one like 31.38.01.11 for general piping)
6. name projects that u've done - they'll jot down from there - not flipping thru ur cv - so remember ur projects by heart - name and briefly what it was about.
7. what is the pull/push factor for application
8. what is ur extra credit - mentioned things I do besides job scope - added value to the company - things like committees
9. ended with - last word from u.
10. they'll contact in 2 weeks time, if pass then move to SI.
11. now they r actually creating a pool of candidates - so, they'll rank everyone and offer them accordingly as time permits. so, just chillex.

All in all, it was a great experience. basically they'll ask basic things - at least things u do. not so technical, but more on concept.

feel free to ask more, since I think it's better if I ask what u want to know since I can keep rambling all day. hahahaa thumbup.gif
pss: don't do this during interview - keep it short and simple and convincing. if u good at English, it's a big chance to nail it. just my observation. rclxm9.gif

Dear all,

I have been notified by e-mail from PETRONAS to be prepared for interview on 17th March 2014 for the position of Executive (SCM). My background is Software Engineering in Oil&Gas Industry for 2 years and then currently in education line (University College) as Senior IT Exec.

May I get your opinion, what is the suitable expected salary for the position of Executive in SCM (Supply Chain Management) ?
*
Is it SMSO?

Yes.

Did you received the interview offer too ?
*
nope, but i'm working as a consultant here in Kerteh and involved in many projects with PETRONAS.

Anywy, 2years experience is still considered as graduate. experienced is 3yrs and above.

so, my take would be RM4.0k to RM4.5k wink.gif

Thanks for the info.

But what if my current salary is around that range ? So is it OK if my expected salary to be up more around 25% - 35% ? Is it normal ?
*
that's the thing. it's either to mark-up based on ur current salary or to suit their market...hurmm, not sure myself.

perhaps, somebody else would like to share their tots?

Email tu ckp within 6 months, if not called then void.

last time one of my friends got called after 2 months and the other just after a week. it depends on them and the candidates since all of the recommended candidates got ranked from 1-10 (there were 10 pax for each dept).

Just want to ask for anyone that knows, what is the current procedure if you wish to leave PETRONAS before serving your scholarship bond? I have served ~6.5 / 10.

Is it still pay lump sum or in instalments? If instalments - any idea the period involved or is that based on discussion with ESU / HR?
*
They actually hire a recovery management (3rd party) to collect all the loan. So, it's really tough to deal with them since they'll aim to get as much collection (lump sum) as possible as that is their KPI.

No collection, no pay....tagline.
