Fuji F11 stand aside already!!!

Hmmm.. if they can offer reasonable ISO 1600 performance on a F11 sized compact camera, then tabik lar.

i wonder how much this will cost.

offering high ISO is one thing, getting the noise low is another. pana is known to have noisy sensor on their cams. if they manage to keep noise low at high iso, it is really a big improvment for them

sure ke aparture range cuma f2.8-3.3 saja....then with ISO 1600 what about the noise they create....

When someone says aperture F2.8-3.3 means that along the zoom range, what is the biggest aperture it can go for. In camera world we want a bigger aperture (small F stop) as much as possible.

Take a DSLR lens, F2.8. We don't care what is the range, just as long as it can go the biggest!

compact cam aperture normally can go down to f/8
so in this case at wide, f/2.8~8
at tele, f/3.3~8
ok lah for most shooting

most compacts has aperture at tele from f/5.6. that's why if you zoom, it gets darker

iso1600(you won't get full resolution) you can do that in photoshop too, resize to smaller resolution.

Some people just don't understand that Fuji F11 is for compact and easier to bring around.

the question now is,
you prefer High noise with more detail or low noise with less detail, I've seen wonder with everone also complaint noisy LX1, all i can say is, it can blow 16RW with high detail, how many compact at similar range can do that anyway? Personally, I think the noisy or smooth image is not a big issue, noisy pic is still better than no pic.

FZ7 also ultra compact? Is it true?

Noisy pic? If you see my Minolta S304 ISO800 in action, you won't say noisy pic is still better than no pic. It have a lot of hot pixel

By the way, FZ7 sample pic at 800 and 1600 haven't come out. Some more, 1600 not at full resolution. I think its just crap. Just get F11 + dSLR.

U sure fujifilm f11 has low noise level at high ISO?

well, i guess we will have to wait for the hands-on reviews to come out from all the website then.

personally i don expect much from the noise level improvement... cos the CCD size is still same as FZ5 worst is 6mp... means even smaller photosite..

When FZ3 first come, its RM1700 also. Then FZ5 comes in at RM1700 and FZ3 drops to Rm1300-RM1500. If FZ7 enters, it will also priced at RM1700 where FZ5 price will drop

yup, and at max aperture, lenses are known to be "soft".


aperture is measured in reciprocal form
f1/2.8 is bigger than f/5.6... for example.

This Fz-7 aperture range very good already!

For a 12x camera at this size? its ultra compact.
If u dun have the pic, its worst than you have a noisy pic. Sometime u just need to get the pic rather than no pic at all.

it will still be very useable if the ISO 1600 is only availble at 2-3mega pixels.


FZ7 is going to be replace FZ5, figure that out.

relatively speaking, yes. i'd say noise at iso800 is almost same as pana compact cams at iso200. plus, based on many photos i've seen, it's iso1600 is still pretty usable. noise is still manageable. i don't mind shooting at iso1600 on this cam (when i got one ). it's the only capable compact cam at iso1600, so far.

Can't wait to see how the FZ-7 performs in terms of ISO noise. If Panasonic managed to resolve their noise issue, then they'll have a killer digicam.

For now, it seems Fuji's F11 still has bragging rights over noise in this category.

The class closest to FZ7 from pana most probably will be the new announced TZ1, Compact 10X zoom camera.

Not going to sell lar.......I am happy with my FZ5.
All those advance cameras nowdays with high Megapixels produce lots of noise lar...eg. FZ30.

To me FZ3 is still the best - F2.8 during 12X zoom.

So, stick to the new FZ7 is better to me, coz i haven't own a dc yet ~!

ISO800/1600 on the FZ7 is pretty useless. Fujifilm S5600/S9500/F10/F11/F30 still superior in low noise. But Panasonic has optical image stabilizer.

But its a great replacement to the FZ5 for its new panaroma video mode and 2.5" LCD(low pixel though).

The FZ7 also seems to oversaturate and oversharpen quite a bit.

screw the optical image stabilizer. go for the low noise, my fz5 photo using ISO 400 during wedding cant be use since it has alot of noise....

seems like not much improve from FZ5 to FZ7 on Noise issue

but FZ7 no macro button but got macro mode which quite "mafan":p

now what i saw the review is
FZ7 have some MP increase ,additional Shooting modes ,Manual focus (via joystick), better movie mode, better bettery life(320 over 300) ,bigger LCD but lower pixel (2.5 over 1.8 , FZ7 = 114,000 pixels)

Anyway now FZ5 is RM1499 include 256MB
if FZ7 is really RM1500++ ,it will be a nice and good price.

Fuji S5600 is quite nice with the ISO ,if I adjust ISO higher actually I can take the photo very nicely when the sunlight is strong ,so when the sunlight is enough no worry on this camera ,u just need to adjust shutter speed and ISO and when enviroment is a bit dark ,without anti-shake is quite troublesome ,but u still can count on the high ISO

Personally if FZ7 ISO200 have good image in ISO200 and average noise in ISO400 is ok already but too bad .....

Conclusion get from dpreview.com is
Higher than average Noise at ISO 80
Strong color noise at ISO 200+

and FZ5
More noise at ISO 80 than we'd like to see
Noise reduction at ISO 400 in low light obliterates too much fine detail ('watercolor' look)

aiyoh, dnt knw why lah ,seems like 0 improvement in ISO issue.
