dannytzh, I'll 2nd dat... truthfully speaking, noise in TZ1 is indeed causing much complaints.. This is when you decide for yourself, on how much noise are u willing to tolerate.. I'm a proud owner of TZ1 btw.. n i can tolerate the noise processed on the pictures.. some reviews I read, I dun think I can accept wat has being said as most of them haf been using prosumer cameras. Itz kinda stupid to compare an apple to an orange ryt? n if even so they are comparing apple to apple, say P&S cameras, there ain't much P&S cameras dat provide the same features... hence, the 10x optical, Venus Engine (3rd Gen.) n Mega IOS (2nd Gen.) play sum roles there. and given d fact dat itz a new camera by pana, it still uses the Leica lenses.. afaik, some of d new ones, uses Lumix lenses as Pana already start to produce their own lenses, for their low-end cameras...

Well, the venus 3 engine was meant to reduce the noise of itz predecessors, not eliminate em up... n it is now here for a reason, not juz for stupid marketing strategies..

So, how do we actually compare these engines side by side? do we haf 2 5MP cams at 3x optical zoom with Venus II and III respectively, side by side takin the same image?

a 5-mths old Tizzy user here... 10x optical zoom is splendid.. can snipe ppl fr far.. macro shots are nice too.. image stabilizer Mode 2 is on since d 1st day eventho dat myt eat sum power fr the batt... worth it tho.. juz rmmbr dat, the pic is not so nice if u r manipulating it at 5MP 100% view out-of-the-box.. noise still a prob.. but heck, I snap at 5MP, but manipulate at 1024x768 reso the max... thus, still look awesome.. me aint into photo-printings..so, not much comment bout this Tizzy.

Looking forward to haf u in the club qysra... but me not sure the current price now. sorry bout dat.

i got mine fr dat shop too for rm1599.. all the same specs.. i'm not sure d real cost for dat accessories but the tripod n screen protector really help me alot in learning the camera.... n the pouch of coz... back then, when i roughly calculate it, the total cost was almost RM2K.. s far s i rmmbr ar..
