just kidding ma ~! wufei ~!
hey, u wan to sell ur FZ5 adi ?? coz FZ7 is coming soon wor ~!
*
Not going to sell lar.......I am happy with my FZ5.
All those advance cameras nowdays with high Megapixels produce lots of noise lar...eg. FZ30.

To me FZ3 is still the best - F2.8 during 12X zoom.

Since you are using tripod....u should use aperture priority with F8.0 to produce the star effect on the light source

Thanks

1.the secret is you need something stable to support your camera. ie. tripod
For me i sit on the floor and put my ankle as tripod, no time to put up my tripod at that time.

2. F stop (aperture) , I put it F8.0 that the biggest aperture FZ5 permits.

3. Shutter speed 2-3secs , depends on what type of fireworks

4. ISO 80 (the lowest)

Fireworks scene mode not really useful, because its only gives me 1 secs shutter speed.

Need to switch on Flash for fireworks shooting? unsure.gif

no need. u dont want those object(near object) appear in front of you. You just want the fireworks.
The darker the background the better.

FZ7 dont have manual focus. Correct me if I am wrong.

So u cant set the focus to infinity. So to avoid this problem you have to set the fouse to 9 point Auto focus.

F8.0 + 1/1000sec is too fast shutter speed and too small aperture hole....so u get totally black.

just like u open a small hole for 1/1000 sec and u close again, u see nothing just all black black lar....the light source also cant get in that fast.

So thats y i recommend ISO auto, F8.0 + 2 sec shutter speed. In order to set this...u need to use manual function, not shutter priority not aperture priority.

Flash only bright up those object in front of you. If you want to take a pic of your gf with fireworks background then u need to use flash lar + bigger aperture such as F5.6 because the flash very fast, so u need to open up the aperture for the light to go in and shorter the shutter speed.

By shorter the shutter speed you might not get that long tail of fireworks....thats the pro and cons for digi cam.

You want to have better pics , hehe need DSLR lor...with better ISO notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Sorry, FZ7 can goto ISO 1600???? FZ5 max is ISO400, but hardly goto that.

Just to share my experience with FZ5,

With flash FZ5 will reduce to ISO80, sometimes ISO 200

daylight photo ISO100

Without flash or night shot ISO200

FZ5 hardly give ISO300-400.
