I don't hold that fund.

I'm sharing the FSM top funds for highest return for 1-month as Pink Spider pointed out.

Top and Bottom Equity Funds in 2013: Outstanding Year for Equities ....... January 7, 2014
We recap an excellent year for equity funds .....Author : iFAST Research Team

http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...?articleNo=4217

any of you holding any of these for a full year?
just need to confirm if the % gained or lost in your holdings is the SAME as they displayed?
(I seriously doubted it to be so....I think maybe 10% off) anyone can confirm?

laugh.gif just a footnote:...As part of our continued efforts to urge local investors to venture overseas, we advise local investors to consider Asia ex-Japan and Emerging Markets regions as they present more attractive investment opportunities than the Malaysia market... shocking.gif shocking.gif sweat.gif

(hopefully "they" won't go breakdown his office's door to look for him for treason... tongue.gif )

Just to share:
Eastspring Small-Caps, i've held since 2005 (called Pru Smallcaps those days).
This binatang has hit 25%+pa before 2008's kaboom.
Currently, showing 15%+pa in my own tracking.
Looks to be a good "long-termer", especially via FSM. Paid 6%+ service charge for mine those yester-years and still nice %pa long term smile.gif

er.. mine's %pa since 2005 leh, since i bought & held, inclusive of losing the 6%+ on service charges
Vs
FSM's 2013 only (eg i suspect they calculated 1st Jan 2013 till 31st Dec 2013, excluding or including service charges unsure tongue.gif)

64% is definitely 2013 full year return (1st January to 31 December)

@wongmunkeong, you should have your cumulative ROI right?

Hi there to all experienced investors in this thread. Would appreciate if you can share your views on the following funds as recommended by the FSM Client Investment Specialist:-

Asia Ex-Japan Equity – AmAsia Pacific Equity Income.

Global – Aberdeen Islamic world equity fund.

Malaysia – Kenanga Growth Fund (which I am very interested in)

AmBond

AmDynamic Bond

I am a very noob investor with a relatively aggressive risk profile but would like to start with 1 or 2 funds just to gain experience first.

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

Dont know why is the swing so huge these few days,

I remember checking my investment value it showed profit (+ RM1343) on 3.1.2014 , but today 8.1.2014 so fast it has lost so much! (- RM1202 )

Reading form this forumn I bought:

Am Asia Pac Eq ---------->from -RM169 to -RM1176
Eastspring Invest Dinasti--> from +RM1522 to +RM378
HWang Select Asia Ex Jap opportunity-> From -RM80 to -RM229
Hwang Select Asia Ex Jap Quantum-->From -RM172 to -RM288
Pacific Global stars --------------------->From +RM243 to +RM123.

Why Am Asia Pac Eq and Eastspring invest Dinasti dropped so much?

Because China and North Asian markets are doing that well since the beginning of the new year.

Both funds are heavy at those regions.

For 2014, Let’s Understand What Risk is All About....By Ser Jing Chong
Risk is one of the most misunderstood concepts in investing. During the festive season a few weeks back, I was having dinner with a group of close friends. One of them asked me, in my own personal capacity, how he can grow his savings over the long-term, apart from just saving more.

“Stocks”, I answered. “But, aren’t stocks risky? They move up and down all the time, and are prone to collapses”, he questioned.

That, for me, was again a sign that there are indeed likely to be many who are confused about investing risks
