Hi there to all experienced investors in this thread. Would appreciate if you can share your views on the following funds as recommended by the FSM Client Investment Specialist:-

Asia Ex-Japan Equity – AmAsia Pacific Equity Income.

Global – Aberdeen Islamic world equity fund.

Malaysia – Kenanga Growth Fund (which I am very interested in)

AmBond

AmDynamic Bond

I am a very noob investor with a relatively aggressive risk profile but would like to start with 1 or 2 funds just to gain experience first.

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

(just a note....what is the term of investing (how long?) for your mentioned aggressive risk profile? what is your expected ROI?)

Hi Mr Looi,

Thanks for your advice...I am comfortable investing from 3 to 7 years and expected ROI is >20%

Before buying anything, I will read the Prospectus and try to understand as much as I can (which really isn't much!) sweat.gif

Will do more research on overseas fund and emerging markets then. BTW, do you mind sharing your portfolio? Do you have any small cap funds?

Cheers! biggrin.gif

Hi again Uncle Looi,

LOL, i should have made myself clearer. >20% over 3 to 7 years.

Regarding the overseas/emerging funds, may I know how exactly are we to monitor the upswing in this manner? (Besides reading FSM articles every day blush.gif ) Apologies for this ignorant-sounding question as I really have no idea how to time my purchases at all.

No need to be paiseh about your portfolio, we are all on a learning process together! thumbup.gif

For now, as i will only be buying 2 funds at the most am I correct in assuming that not much balancing need to be done? Perhaps later i will move on to small cap like the EI one or balanced funds.

Cheers!

Kenanga growth seems too be going up up up in these few weeks despite the drop in local stock market
