1 week in sg ad..less response of interview seriously wey!!... argh~ fresh grad so hard to find job in sg nowadays? goshhhh @.@

1 week already mau kecoh? balik malaysia la. Even fresh grad in your home country takes time to find a decent job, you come to foreign country with no discernible advantages over the local fresh grads and expect a job within a week? hmm.gif

hello..i received a job offer in SG after my interview. Would like to ask, how does the process goes? Cuz HR didn't send me any pdf file or offer letter. I received only an email on the offer. Am i supposed to receive an official offer letter (pdf file)? I can still bargain on the salary right?

the company will still need to apply work permit/S-Pass/E-Pass from Ministry of Manpower(MOM) and only after getting a green light(In Principal Approval/IPA) then the company can officially give you an offer letter for your to sign.
If even you're given an offer letter to sign without the above(s) knowledge. There's normally a clause to say that the offer letter is subjected to the approval of MOM granting a work permit/S-Pass/E-pass.

Since it's still an email, I believe you may still negotiate on the remuneration package and etc.

so exactly how did u "receive" the offer? u should be bargaining at that time.
some company will not give u a soft copy of their offer letter.
u will have to go there and sign personally...by that time, the offer letter is already printed out with the amt they will be paying u

I suggest you should start negotiating ASAP, because in the work permit the company will also need to fill up this person's salary.

I read an article about they protecting local graduate jobs. But now too sure if that will ever happen, since like you said nothing beats low wages foreigners. Company wont care about local or not, is it all about the money.
*
so they are okay to do the work permit? so normally Malaysian working in SG (fresh grad) will be paid less?

guys let's say you want to call the company (where you don't have contacts), but you can only get HR's number

so you have no choice, you call HR

but normally HR doesn't have updated information on whether there are vacancies in the desired dept. (they maybe have a list just like one you can find online sometimes) and further, if the dept. is willing to or wants to take in a fresh grad HR is very likely to not know this

how to get past this so that the dept. gets to see your CV and you don't just get passed by HR?

Department will need to seek approval from management for head count. Once approved, HR will start hiring process. Don't understand why do you think HR doesn't have any updated information.

Hiring advertisements by HR > contact/send resume to HR > HR will go through CVs > pass CVs of potential candidates to hiring manager....

I have a 2 year contract with Starhub. Signed their mobile, broadband and cable TV plan.
It has been over 1 year now and i don't face any issues. Except for that 1 time the cable tv was down for 1 day.
So far i'm happy with it.

Maybe it depends on your location?
*
laugh.gif I see! This is encouraging! Maybe Starhub is not so bad after all!
