For TNB, you have to fill in a cancellation form IIRC.

Yes, I would tell them the real reason as well. The bank will do post mortem on reason for attrition.
Though they would already anticipated this, our feedback will be officially registered into their management radar/report/statistic.
When they want to fight back to get back cc market share next time they will know what to offer to cc holders.

So the 5% cash rebate ends by this month right? ?? so sad need to terminate 2 card in a month, another is scb, planning to shift to wise card to get 100 cash back

just don't activate and don't swipe the card
just cut and throw the card into rubbish bin
then no need to pay a single cent...not even the rm50 gov tax

Since it is still not approved, call up CS and cancel your application. Make sure you follow up.

Are you sure that the GST is not imposed when the card is not activated?

just confirmed with OCBC CS, if you terminate your card before statement date, those transactions made before the statement date will not get any cash rebate

I can keep this card in the drawer after the upcoming statement date on 12th.

You still can get 5% rebate for 12th-28th purchases. Just don't terminate the card too before getting the rebate

Try your best to maximize 5% for RM50 rebate this month

i just get my card, wondering can i cancel the card without any penalty?
