Geez... I can't believe this is the finale... there goes my RM50 monthly cash cow... cry.gif
Ever since I setup auto debit 5 months back, it has been my faithful auto-pilot cash cow in my drawer...
Now it got to work 5x harder or time to move on, haiz sad.gif
Good things just won't last, will they? But, for the past 2.5 year owning this card, I must say it has been a rewarding time. nod.gif

but i thought even if u do it during weekend, it might not get processed during the weekend... they might process it during weekday and ur extra 5% during weekend cashback is gone?

pay the bills using mbb amex via maybank2u should be instant.  smile.gif

QUOTE(David83 @ Nov 8 2013, 07:02 AM)
Yes. It's instant. Can confirm that.
*
Confirm here too. I always do it on Saturday, and transaction date is on the same day, hence 5% and 5xTP. No surprises.

bad news for all the OCBC Tit user...but just keep it as backup card for 1% unlimited cash back...same with HL essential card.
*
I was considering HL Essential on its 1% unlimited CB to cover some unexpected big bill (e.g. car repair, medical bill, furniture, laptop, etc) that can't use M2 Amex. But the rewards after AF+GST is not very encouraging.
Maybe for now I will downgrade OCBC TMC for this purpose. Sad... sad.gif
But ocbc just didn't confirm if it is cap at RM50 per month or unlimited.

Haha replying my own post

Just called up & successfully cancelled the card.

They ask for reason why cancel, just tell them you'd prefer to use cash payment tongue.gif

QUOTE(edwardccg @ Nov 9 2013, 01:41 PM)
just tell them no 5% = cancel

want retain = revise back to 5%  biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ronnie @ Nov 9 2013, 01:56 PM)
You should told them to REINSTATE the 5%... main reason for cancellation. I would tell them directly.
*
Yes, I would tell them the real reason as well. The bank will do post mortem on reason for attrition.
Though they would already anticipated this, our feedback will be officially registered into their management radar/report/statistic. mad.gif
When they want to fight back to get back cc market share next time they will know what to offer to cc holders.

Nice article.... but I felt I should be creditted on AEON WATAMI as I'm the first in LYN to unravel their 3% cash back back in Jan 2013.

Kudos to Ronnie too for the tips on Watami (the unheard/unexplored cc then) ... notworthy.gif
Has been a happy card holder with RM150 x 3 for the last 3 quarters + watami dinning CB + GST CB + AEON Point redemption in CB. A total of > RM600 CB so far. drool.gif

For those who are unsatisfied with ocbc TMC, can really explore this card.

ya, thats the main concern on the GST, will try to call CS during GST month.. if i dont spend the balance amount on OCBC, I will only spend on MBB ordinary card, which earn me only TPs.

A rough calculation showed me, if I spend over 700 per month, I shall use OCBC instead of ordinary TP cards.
*
QUOTE(DarReNz @ Dec 23 2013, 04:04 PM)
yeah 1% CB is still better than 1X points
*
Thanks for the quick tips on the breaking point spending of RM700/mth. notworthy.gif
I used to keep ocbc TMC in my drawer and MB2 Master in my wallet. Now it is the reverse.
1% is definitely better than 1xTP (~0.4%). tongue.gif

Just wanted to share with you the face of the guy who signed off on the recent Love Letter that we received from OCBC

http://www.ocbc.com.my/assets/pdf/Media/20.../OCBC_Cards.pdf

http://www.theborneopost.com/2013/12/05/oc...s-on-all-items/

Its funny, he says that he wants OCBC to be the favourite 'Number 2' card for every MY.

Why No. 2 and not number 1.  The OCBC Titanium was my Number 1 card and I have charged all my expenses (save for Petrol).

Now, I am not going to charge anything save for one off annual items. That also, I am rethinking as even Alliance with the combined Cash Back and Reward Points gives higher effective returns of 1%.

If I keep the Titanium, my net returns from the Card is probably going to be less than RM50 per year (after GST).
*
QUOTE(Human Nature @ Dec 18 2013, 03:56 PM)
Hehe, we need to show him that it will not even be in top 5. It is already not in Top 10 in Gen-X's annual ranking tongue.gif
*
Yes, I do hate ocbc for removing the 5% CB. mad.gif
I have to replan to adapt my spending pattern around all the cards I have.

Just my 2 cents. My reading on “MUST-HAVE SECOND CARD” is that they planned to place ocbc TMC as the "secondary" card to supplement other "primary" cards. It pays (a hell lot) to be number 1, I guess ocbc knows where they stand. Just like any election, some do know they can only contest for Deputy post and not President post. It is better to be in the game than out of the game. So, ocbc wants to be the best "second card". icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't know about others, for my spending pattern, I do need such "second card" for big items that don't accept Amex (not in WISE categories; and already max out Watami cc tongue.gif). I used to resort to MB2 Master with 1xTP (a miserable 0.4% equivalent CB) with a feeling of "no choice". sad.gif
I have searched for a cc to fill this gap. Considered HLB Essential but din apply just for the mere 1% CB. Now I got it since ocbc revert to 1% unlimited CB. Not exactly what I wish it to happen. sweat.gif So now I downgrade ocbc TMC from "prime" CB cc to "secondary" CB cc for my "others" expenses. I'll still keep it for such purpose.

Let's hope there are other banks offering killer CB cc in 2014. yawn.gif

Hopefully OCBC can come out with this kind of promotion often to attract their customer since it's no longer offer 5% rebate etc.

Wow, that was like a meal for a party of 5-6. And it cost u only RM13+. Amazing! thumbup.gif
I thought the offer only for the drinks only. Really miss it. cry.gif
12:07...You were pretty early to the grab the deal. laugh.gif Was it long queue?

Quite long Q but I was their first customer for this promo. Hihihi. That time I was ordering like mad. Even their merchandise also can grab at 90% off.

I think about 1pm no more food left. Whoever still in Q that time can only buy coffee etc.
*
Merchandise also?...Wow! Food sold out in an hour? Pretty crazy.
Hope that ocbc will come out with more. drool.gif

Reached there around 11.45am. At that time no people/Q. So I just sat at the table and wait until 12pm and proceed with my orders. After that only, the place flooded with peoples.

if they do not allow us to view unbilled transaction, that is like just discouraging prudent and thrifty spending.

Sorry, we are temporary unavailable.

We're working on it so please come back in a while.

Can log in...Have tried log in 5-6 times in the afternoon. Also called CS twice. Something to share...

1. The old links doesn't work in Chrome but works in Firefox/IE. For Chrome try navigate from main site.
2. CS said new internet banking works for IE8 and above.
3. CS said cc trans is not available right now for both unbilled and statemented trans. They are fixing it right now and will be ready only by 28 April. shakehead.gif doh.gif
4. Found e-statement link, but CS doesn't know if it is the exact like paper statement.
5. Can't find e-statement subscription link, CS said no need, just click and view....hmm, sound like the old one. Hope CS is wrong.
6. Have many fancy new features, like Money Insight, spending pattern, compare with others, etc.

Finally the e-statement and unbilled transaction is working...
But disappointedly, the e-statement layout is still not the same as the paper statement. doh.gif
The transaction history will list out unbilled transactions and continue with statemented transactions without segregation. And if you download the list it says "Unbilled Transactions"! doh.gif
At least the old internet banking split the 2 clearly.

Just for sharing...
I just received my Annual Usage Bonus for ocbc tmc - both principal and supp card.
Thank you, OCBC rclxm9.gif notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

When I called up, the CS like duwan to layan for GST off-set... so I insisted for him to submit the request.
I thought it will be a stone throw into the sea - nothing will happen.
Never thought I succeeded when I check my unbilled transactions. rclxms.gif

Maybe it is because I swiped a big sum last month. Probably they think I might default... sweat.gif
But again, the success rate is very low, don't try this if you have better card to go for. icon_rolleyes.gif

I think u have been pampered with the 5% too much. 1% unlimited with no category restrictions is quite a good card. Just like HLB essential too.

I went to book store today and spent around rm900. They don't accept amex and I don't have watami, so ocbc is the best candidate here, and for MANY other occasions too.
*
Ya, different card users may have different usage pattern...
I was looking for unlimited CB last time, almost get the HL Essential card.
Now I just treat my ocbc tmc as if I got the HL Essential card...similar features laugh.gif
Yes, I am keeping ocbc tmc for the same reason : big ticket items that not accepting Amex.
Just to share my big amount swipe in March on my ocbc tmc... icon_rolleyes.gif

1. I swiped 12k on an investment product with ocbc tmc (not accepting Amex) >> Got RM120 CB which would be only RM50 max in the past.
2. I got the annual usage bonus from ocbc, most probably due to this irregular swipe. Worth RM75 (principal+supp).
3. I cancelled the investment during cooling period (felt not a good investment after reconsideration) >> I got refunded in cheque >> I put into eFD to earn 3% for one month before my ocbc tmc due date. drool.gif
4. I BT 12k to Watami cc on 0% interest 6mth installment >> further pace out the cash outflow for another 6mth, more eFD interest, and get reward point in the process.
5. ...

Yeah, no penalty if cancel within cooling period.
At first I was worried the refund incur complex and long process and missed my ocbc tmc due date, but end up was way early and I got just over 1 month of free credit period and enjoy free 1 month eFD. Unexpected gain. thumbup.gif

The best part is I do not need to fork out the 12k to get the 120 CB. thumbup.gif
Instead I get to earn 1 month FD interest before the cc due date. tongue.gif
And I BT out @ 0% interest later on...
Free CB, free FD interest and free reward points at 0 cost (free credit)... drool.gif
