Hi All,

I have recently applied for a credit card from Hong Leong but was rejected.
After that I was told by someone else (not HLB) that I have to wait for another 6 months before I can apply for another credit card not only for Hong Leong but any other banks as well?
Is this true?

Thanks!
Appreciate your help!

6 mths is standard practice, but you can always reapply before that, just ensure your documentation is complete
try different channels - booth, road show, walk in to bank ...

What's the word on Diners Club cards? I heard Diners Club is suspending services in this country indefinitely. What is the reason for their "rationalisation"?
*
must be due to the new bnm regulations of lowering the interchange fee for all cc.

Just out of curiosity, can i apply multiple cards from the same bank at the same time (one gold and one platinum)?

I'm actually more interested in the platinum benefits, but my annual salary does not fulfill the requirement yet (still short of 20k). Usually how much is needed to pledge fd in my case?

If you can't fulfill, they will not give you the platinum. So, to answer to your question, if it is same type of card but it has Gold and Plat, you cannot apply both at the same time.

As for the FD amount, it depends on the banks if they accept and the amount they will require.

Actually it is possible to apply plat and gold and get both approved, provided no issue with income req.

If for the same type of card? For e.g. Maybank Ikhwan, HLB Wise?

Just made a phone call to icbc card centre, informing them about my UnionPay card usage in Shenzhen and Hong Kong on next week.

To my surprise was, CS said that no need to inform the bank about the overseas usage, as it is 'Worldwide' valid.

Another thing I highlighted to them was my UnionPay card still signature based but not PIN based. If payment transaction PIN input needed, how? CS said just simply key in any random 6 digit numbers will do..

This is my first time usage on UnionPay card at Shenzhen and Hong Kong, hopefully everything is smooth...wink.gif

You do not tell them, the bank will not know and as long as you are still paying the statements, they do not actually care.

If you are planning to use the card in foreign currency, best to apply the local cards to avoid Forex and even cross border fee.

U only can remove credit card details if the booking already "check in" and "check out". It is to protect house owner still can charge any "necessary charge" during stay.

ASB can be considered as income.

But if it's not around 70k~100k, unlikely to approve.

Just cough up 10~15k for VS.

Requirement much lower already.
