Which cards still give good rebate for overseas spends like HLB Wise's ex-promo of 10%?
Otherwise will use Aeon Watami Card for lower forex and 3% CB, as advised by Genx in
http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2014/01...r-overseas.html
Thanks in advance.

feel that the cash back is all a gimmick, i.e. capped at RM50 per month by AEON watami and CIMB cash rebate card...get you hooked and the interest on outstanding charges easily snowballs beyond the RM50 rebate.

Bro, very tough based on my experience. I want to increase CL for my Maybank CC also susah, however, did not really try very hard as they always entertain my request for Temporary CL.

Dividend from UT/Stock usually not taken into consideration as it is not taxable income and not guaranteed. Some banks may entertain FD interest but not necessary. Rental income can be considered becasue technically you have to declare in your Borang BE.

Of course there are ways to get credit card when one retires - Premier Banking and or pledge FD.

Then must plan to keep those with lifetime free AF like OCBC Ti , CIMB CB Platinum and MBB2Amex.

Yes Yes, FREE for LIFE cards are the best  thumbup.gif

Premier Banking also get FREE Credit Card for now - RHB Plat (but going to merge with CIMB), HLB Plat and Alliance Plat.

Worst come to worst, got debit cards  tongue.gif

Thanks Bro, but RHB Plat (thought no more merging CIMB), HLB Plat and Alliance Plat not much CashBack and I don't like to park money at one place, prefer musical chair.

Bro, if you had read Premier Priority Privilege Banking published years ago at my Ringgit Wise Fool blog, these 3 banks NO NEED maintain minimum AUM like Citibank, HSBC or SCB. One time deposit in to FD (when got promo) and then take out, hahaha

Sorry, read most of your writeup but not fully retained, getting old. When the time comes, hope these 3 Banks still offer same condition. If not much CB but must have complementary PPL access.

Decision, decision. If comes 1-4-2015 and no more rm50 GovST, which are the cards to cut NOW b4 the card issuers charge this rm50 and annual fees?
For me, probably those hardly used cards and with high AF,like AMexPlatinum, RHB Platinum, CitiPremiermilesVS, AEON Gold, all due in the coming months.
Maybe will keep AEON Gold since AF & GST easily waived. The other 3 cards more for PPL access, maybe will reapply after 1-4-2015.

Bro, I see you collecting cards that grant FREE airport lounge access  laugh.gif - no need tell me why as I can figure it out from your past posts.

Assuming you terminate the AMEX Plat, Citibank PRemierMiles VS and RHB Plat, that would save you RM150 which you can then go use at McD or other restaurants.

msa9696 reported back in July (see below spoiler) that Citi gave him a hard time when he requested for his Premier Miles annual fee to be waived.

Bro, can't avoid your sharp eyes and youngman's memory, tongue.gif
It is more of the high AF that I am planning to swap those Cards that allow PPL access with new ones.
Yeah Citibank used to waive AF by just a call but looks like they are stopping this practice. And I doubt AF of RHB Platinum and AmexPlatinum can be waived without high spending. Maybe I will apply MBB VS & CitiPlatinum b4 cancelling the AmexPlatinum & CitiPMiles.
My only other card that allows PPL access is AEON GOLD. Looks like there is not much choice for cards with PPL access and free-for-life AF.
About time to read thru this again "Free Access to Airport Lounges with Credit Cards, KLIA, LCCT, Senai and Worldwide" and of course your blog too: http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2013/07...e-entry-to.html

watami is a must. not sure whether ijn accept amex? if yes, that's your 2nd choice.

do you have ge insurance policy? if yes, you may convert your blue card to ge card before payment. but not sure you can delay payment until you receive your ge card or not. if can, this is your 3rd choice.

if 2nd and 3rd options can't, just use watami also good as it still offers 0.4% points to cash in direct conversion.

Will use rm5000 on Watami. IJN accepts MBB2Amex, so 5xTP equivalent to 1.25%CB? OCBC GE card earns 1%CB without capping? Thanks victorywp. Any other choice?

victorywp , Human Nature , chongaik82 thanks for your concern and suggestion. Sorry I wasn't more specific previously but actually it is for my parent.

So will use watami and mbb2amex for payment and AEON & PBB for BT.
