Need some advice on how to utilize my cc. Do not know how to fully utilize it. Holding a OCBC world mastercard (1.2% cash back unlimited) and Maybank petronas platinum visa card (points). Both cl is almost the same where Maybank has higher cl.

Which is should I focus on using the most? I always confuse. Cashback or points would be better.

I want to ask, if I want to apply for Maybank2 Gold card and I am not working (still studying) but I have ASG and FD total >Rm50k, can I use that to apply for Maybank2 Gold card?

I am thinking of going to midvalley and apply. Bring photocopies of FD certs + ASG book

is it good for the bank to ask my info (my presence and position in the company) from HR. recently applied for citibank CC but got rejected cause i didn't disclose my company HR number for them to confirm my position in my company

Okay my sister same case with you. Application was rejected because no one pick up the phone when they called. End up my sister applied for maybank 2 cards and got it.

did the maybank personnel called up the HR to confirm as well?

When I applied for OCBC TMC years ago, they did call my office to check!

Key points:
1. Government is expected to stop imposing service tax on credit cards following the implementation of GST next year. The service tax for credit cards policy has already been in place since 2010. However, 6% GST may be imposed on the annual fees of credit cards.
2. According to insider news from the banking industry obtained by China Press, some of the nitty-gritty issues have yet to be sorted out but it's almost certain that Bank Negara will stop imposing service tax on credit cards (RM50 for principal card, RM25 for supplementary card).
3. Some of the local banks waive the annual fees for their loyal customers, but it's uncertain if this initiative will be continued after GST comes into effect.
