Yesterday tried to call SC to cancel 4 of my CC, CS said will call me back within 6 days. Well, lets see what's the offer next.

My gst was charged while I was on holiday in dec. I initiated cancellation after seeing the gst. The cancellation dept willing to "waive" my gst but if I still want to cancel my card I need to pay up the $50 (my cc bill would be due on feb 10). Is this true?

Also, I need to keep the card till Aug. So we didn't reach any conclusion as I was not happy with the untruths told. Ex: claiming to call me many times but my hp and office phone didn't show any missed calls. Oh, I asked if got any additional cash rebate and she said never heard of it before.

I called up scb directly and the cs said if the gst is "waived" then only need to keep the card for 6 months. Anyway, I asked the cs to help me cancel again. Frankly, I don't mind keeping the card or even paying to cancel the card but I don't like the way PS handle my case.

after you see your cc statement showing rm50 credited from sc, then only call to cancel your cc again. in that case, you don't need to afraid that you still need to pay up the rm50 gst as the amount is already being offset.

Yes, that's one of my plan or stick with 6 months to honor the deal ($50 rebate for 6 months). Just didn't like the dishonest way of the Price Solution person that handled my case. Hence, refused to deal with her.

I called the CS and they waived the service fee for me first before canceling the card at a later time. I didn't get any retention or other perks to keep the card. How did you guys manage to get the offers
Anyway, I still have balance left to spend in the card and the CS told me to call back in Feb to cancel the card then (as of now she'll just waive service fee).

my colleague used his points to redeem for his standchart cc annual fee.
he should have just called to waive it.

after settling his annual fee, he called to cancel the cc because no longer interested to use the cc.
the cs tried to retain him by offering to refund the annual fees to him in cash (not points).

but he rejected it and confirmed the cancellation.
he should have just get back the annual fees in cash and spend it before calling to cancel again.
