my colleague used his points to redeem for his standchart cc annual fee.
he should have just called to waive it. 

after settling his annual fee, he called to cancel the cc because no longer interested to use the cc.
the cs tried to retain him by offering to refund the annual fees to him in cash (not points).

but he rejected it and confirmed the cancellation.   
he should have just get back the annual fees in cash and spend it before calling to cancel again.
