Correct.Anyway rockamaniac85, do consider yourself a ram cooler for all Crucial Ballisitx rams.
As they're hot.

Put ram cooler better although their warranty at 2.2v as the crucial is quite hot.
Me too use AllnGap ram cooler. I should say nice design and good performance. No regret if u get it -pWs- |

Yes they give lifetime warranty, but only if u use their ram at the maximum voltage of 2.2Volts.If u use their rams more than that and later on burnt, and they know that you've been using higher voltage than 2.2Volts, the warranty voided automatically. U don't know how hot is crucial ballistix rams, once you buy it, then you'll know how hot they are. It's up to you either you want to use ram cooler or not. But if you love your ram, that's the best thing to do. |

for voltage 2.2v or below, its ok w/o aftermarket ramcoolers (those with fans), but ramsink i think is a must when going above 1.9v, quite hot. 2.2v onwards better get active cooling or better watercooling for your ram. jz my 2 cents.

Not for Crucial Ballistix & Tracer rams.U won't be able to withstand the heat of those rams even on 1.9volts. They are hot! Even on 1.9volts, u'll see how hot it is when you got a crucial ballistix in your hands. Trust me, it's hot! Yea your supertalent is cool, much much cooler than these crucial ballistix rams. I bulk both rams, so i know which one is hot, and which one is cooler. |

Anyways here's my KVR 2x 1gb DDR2 667 Hynix FP-Y5 assembled in China. Not bad, 2V @ DDR2 1000. Loose timing tho.

i'm trying to test my ram at 1080@2.0v using super pi 32m..it says 'no exact round' something like that..why is that?? should i pump more voltage or just loosen the timing??

yeah, for a value ram to go that high, im quite surprised too.. very loose timing where it hurts most, but having really high freq is a very good plus.. very nice..
i don't have the ram cooler, so im really scared to set vdimm to 2.2V. ATM having vdimm at 2.0, 430MHz 4-4-4-12 timing.. tighten timing a bit, can't boot already.. even at 2.2V, probably must go 2.3V... |

I think almost all DDR2 value ram can set to 2.2vdimm without any hassle. They quite overclockable too. But value ddr2 rarely can reach stably 1000MHz unless for the good D9 chip.

but if you can find a good d9 chip on a value ram, then that's good for you.. normally you can't find such..

Just tested out my crucial ballistix PC6400 2x1gb. Would you all say the OC for this type of ram is normal (see below)?
Timings 4-4-4-12, SuperPI stable at: -2.0v 930Mhz -2.1v 980Mhz -2.2v 1020Mhz (but fail orthos, doing orthos at 1000Mhz now, later doing memtest) Timings 5-5-5-15, SuperPi stable at: -2.0v 1152Mhz -2.1v (to be tested) And yeah, don't worry, I have some ram fans too cool off the rams!!! |

jus one question, for intel c2d e6300, which is better, higher fsb or tighter timings? coz i heard for different platforms, different type of ram oc'ing will deliver better results...

If u read review website like Anandtech, they build a table to show overclock CPU, FSB, RAM and its timing. They include benchmark in it. Can compare which setting is better.
