QUOTE(toughnut @ May 31 2007, 04:14 PM) then what? get a pair of shiny Ballistix? lol, really thumbs up to this reply. i was reading this thread with so much concentration, and when i reached this reply, i really burst out laughing. lol. btw, a noob question here. my mobo is as shows in my sig, so i was thinking, is it better to get 2x1GB ddr2 800MHz rams, or get 4x512mb ddr2 800MHz ram? will it be the same, or there'll be performance difference?

QUOTE(duo8668 @ Jun 1 2007, 06:43 PM) Wao ... reli nid to do like ur avatar ? burn .... Nah, that thing burning is a panda, not ddr2 ram yeah, thanx for the information shawty, i heard somewhere that having all 4 slots filled up can get good results, even though im not in favour of that idea though. you think you'll still be selling those rams on end of Q3 shawty? will the ram that im thinking of getting get cheaper some more by that time? now i don't have money already, but i'll get it like in another 3 more months to go. need to save up.. and do i need to increase Vdimm to +0.4 so that i can get the timings specified with the product? QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jun 2 2007, 04:31 PM) I didn't say that. I said, overclocking with 4 slots is harder than overclocking with 2 slots. Overclocking using two piece of rams is always better and it'll perform better. i got say u say that meh? i heard somewhere larr, not sure where exactly. for me, i also thought of getting the 2x1gb kit. when larr i can get more money :sigh:

yep, from what im seeing, D9GKX is 25-E type, similar to the D9GQG. 25-E type have good timing and speed, so i think it's better to get those compared to D9GMH, am i rite?

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jun 4 2007, 12:01 PM) Wrong. Only some D9G are good. Not all micron chips that has the D9G sequence is good liao. The top three Micron D9G are: 1st Place = Micron D9GKX [Rare] 2nd Place = Micron D9GMH 3rd Place = Micron D9GCT [Very Rare] D9GQG is not a good overclocker liao. oh, ok. thanx for the info. i've done some checking, and found out that D9GKX chipset is used on 1066MHz ddr2 rams. so for those ppl who's opting for 800MHz or less, D9GMH would be ideal. rite?

guys, i would be getting the ballistix sooner or later, pc26400 800MHz.
jus wanna ask, is it safe to set Vdimm for this ram to 2.2V? somehow i feel like 2.2V is a little too high and probably could damage the RAM.. anyone can clarify this, as well as state the best Vdimm for this RAM? Thanx in advance..

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jul 19 2007, 08:38 AM) Correct. Anyway rockamaniac85, do consider yourself a ram cooler for all Crucial Ballisitx rams. As they're hot. haiya, need meh? if i don't use ram coolers, it'll die faster ah? i thought u said crucial warrantied their rams at 2.2V, not lifetime warranty ah? how much ah ram coolers? it use molex connectors or what ah?

yeah, for a value ram to go that high, im quite surprised too.. very loose timing where it hurts most, but having really high freq is a very good plus.. very nice..
i don't have the ram cooler, so im really scared to set vdimm to 2.2V. ATM having vdimm at 2.0, 430MHz 4-4-4-12 timing.. tighten timing a bit, can't boot already.. even at 2.2V, probably must go 2.3V...

but if you can find a good d9 chip on a value ram, then that's good for you.. normally you can't find such..

jus one question, for intel c2d e6300, which is better, higher fsb or tighter timings? coz i heard for different platforms, different type of ram oc'ing will deliver better results...

QUOTE(§layerXT @ Jul 27 2007, 11:32 PM) If u read review website like Anandtech, they build a table to show overclock CPU, FSB, RAM and its timing. They include benchmark in it. Can compare which setting is better. erm, can you direct me to the site which has the table? i tried googling but to no avail.. sigh...

QUOTE(kmarc @ Aug 13 2007, 04:49 PM) Yeah, I thought of buying from the US too. However, would be difficult to RMA if any problems. There was once when one computer vendor was selling the corsair dominator 2x1gb PC6400 (i think, can't remember) for <RM400 due to incredible rebate! Didn't have time to get that as it was only for a short period of time!!! Of course, to enjoy the rebate, you need somebody living there.... Edit : I know, I know, somebody is going to say corsair dominator is lousy. But what I'm saying is that you can get some parts for damn cheap! corsair dominator is lousy... still you're spending like more than rm300 to get ram. if my budget is really limiting me, then i would go for corsair lar, but if not, i rather spend more and get better rams.. extra rm100 can get super good rams already...

QUOTE(tone @ Aug 21 2007, 03:31 PM) dua point empat voltan lol, no wonder, i was indeed shocked to see very superb performance with low latency using pc5300 card. yeah, very good performance, but you need better cooler for your card then.. orthos stable?

if im not mistaken larr, superpi wont stress ram or cpu to 100%,
orthos does.. and you can continue stressing for longer period of time..
best to check stability is orthos..
IINM lar.. kalu silap jgn marah..
