yes 2.3v IS high considered that stock vdimm is 1.84v ... It will shorten ur RAM life more if u pump it even higher...

Cheapo value chips usually don't respond well to voltage increment, like your RAM. It will shorten the life faster. It's different with chips which overclocks well with additional voltage.

How much did u pay for that Patriot? My cheapo no-heatspreader plain looking Crucial value DDR2-667 overclocks way better than that, at 2.2V only.

It's either your RAM is crappy, or there's something very wrong with your setting...

Nobody could help you unless you post a screenshot or something.

And I bet you're running with 1T command rate which is holding back your RAM a lot

Currently i'm running a pair of Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC2-5300. If i were to add a pair of Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500, all the rams will run at the lower speed of the Tracer PC2-5300 right?

I know there would be difficulty overclocking if different rams were used but will i encounter difficulty overclocking these 2 pair of rams from same line-up but of different batch and designated to run at different speed at stock?

Definitely. 4 sticks of rams are more difficult to overclocked compared to 2 sticks. In addition, your PC2-5300 will hold back the overclock.

My maximum was to go to 850Mhz with 5-5-5-15 timings, if go all the way to 900Mhz get errors from Orthos within 2 seconds already. doh.gif
