How to determine the lowest possible timing for my RAM?.. Corsair XMS2 6400 800Mhz currently running at 4-4-4-12 @667MHz.. To get 1:1 DRam:FSB Ratio...

ram voltage is optional..

first try to change the timing
choose either loose or tight
basically tight timing will give u higher result in bencmarks (but using high voltage)
put it like this.. if ur timing is more more tight, the more voltage u need to make sure it function well

second
lower timing give u lower result than tight timing..
but u can save ur voltage( no need to set it higher )

conclusion:
voltage change everything once u playingw with the timing.. isit clear?? biggrin.gif

So is there any effects if your RAM clock is higher than ur fsb on intel board?

i heard corsair ram can run @ low timing with high clock... but no point having it higher than your fsb... for 1:1 ratio ...

I asked this question but no 1 answered it... =.= here it is again... What is the point of getting 800Mhz ram if you have to lower the speed to 667 to get 1:1 FSB DRAM ratio... ? Im confused .. doh.gif

If your FSB is lower than your RAM... Then your RAM will still run as the same speed as the FSB?

see what divider u using, if 1:1, then ur RAM speed will run the same like FSB...

If RAM speed is higher than FSB? will it make any difference?

1 question.. High speed with bad timing or low speed with good timing better?.. And is it bad not running 1:1 ratio with fsb?
