Would anyone know if the Xperia Z1 has a digital audio out support to output audit from the MicroUSB to DAC/AMP ?

Go to any Sony center and try for yourself. This is both a beauty and a beast to be experienced by ownself!

Camera and build quality is top notch. Very speedy also, what can you expect from Snapdragon 800

I'll say the SG version is very close and similar to MY version. It also does not have the bug of nfc icon not showing in the status bar.
And when I dial up the service menu, the fw version still is showing global version.

Not sure about Z1, last time I tried nuforce DAC on my ZL through USB otg able to work. Should be the same.. But I think the flap will be quite annoying if u were use USB all the time. So far I only use the USB port less than 3 times.

I think the firmware are mainly based on the global version
The differences is determined by the customization number..the customization also will determine the region for ur phone and whether it is a generic firmware or a specifically branded telco firmware
For Z1, I have yet to find anyone sharing all the available customization number and it's region/branding

Correct me if my understanding is wrong here...

So whenever Sony releases a new firmware, they get to decide which customization number will get the update first
So if you guys rmb during the early days of .257, it was the journalist/commercial customization number that got the earliest update. And those who decide to flash it manually ended up with the journalist/commercial version

Maybe you are right. That's why it's better to flash global fw. Or in this case I think the SG version is closer to MY version than the journalist version.

But at the end I'm still use to flashing latest fw cos impatient to wait. Malaysia always quite late to get updates

Why you prefer Z1 mini more to Z1?

prefer z1 mini. i prefer small with high end spec. tired with my note 2. not a fan of big screen phone anymore.

I'm noticing on the left side of my Z1, the screen looks bluish. Like when you press on lcd. The area are more noticeable when I'm viewing white screen.. any idea what this is? thanks..

If only part of the screen, I think it is defective.
