IINM, the only locally available clear switch board is Ducky 9008G2 PRO, and you need to specially back order for clear switch.

Red and black are awesome and "clean" to type on. You press it and release it, no bump or any stickiness to bother you.

Red should do fine, but beginner tend to spam too hard on it, resulting prolonged use not comfortable. For black, it may be a little too stiff for some ppl.

More advanced user can feel some grittiness (sandiness if you like) when pressing for linear switches that are unlubed. These kind of people are anal and has to have their linear switch keyboard lubed for greatness. icon_rolleyes.gif

Most people don't care.

More advanced user can feel some grittiness (sandiness if you like) when pressing for linear switches that are unlubed. These kind of people are anal and has to have their linear switch keyboard lubed for greatness.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Most people don't care.

Read wrongly.

Anything 45/55/60/62 to Mx Clear = Ergo Clear

Never heard of 62g to Red/Blue/Brown though.
If I am not wrong, red blue brown stock spring should be 60g. While actuation is 45g for red, brown 50, blue 55.
This may explain why I tested stock mx red is heavier than vintage black 55g.

oh one more question, what's the different between vintage black and vintage blue?

among this clear, vintage black and blue? which one is most recommended for a person want to customized the board and which switch are cheaper compare to this 3?

vintage black and blue seems very rare to get one.

Down in theory, it is just..black vs blue ?
However MX Vintage Black has no "sandy" feeling at all. Provided it is properly lubed.
You will notice when using linear switch.

It is up to you whether you like tactile with click or linear.
Not all people fond of linear from what I observed here.

For vintage switches, can harvest from old board which uses 2-pin-leg switch like what we use nowadays.
Swapping stem doesn't guarantee whether it will remain the vintage feeling.

vintage black and vintage blue both are the black and blue from the old boards, the linear one much linear and blue one much tactile than the modern black and blue.

Clear and Vintage Black are the most welcomed.

Black is not hard to find, but vintage blue im not sure as not much hearing ppl looking for it smile.gif

Cost cutting.

Kb used to cost over hundreds bucks on norm, thus the implements of rubber domes bring a pretty huge impact to mech kbs.

Last time dey also made doubleshot, but in the end stopped it and even sold the machineries for it.

Money better spent elsewhere? I don't look at my keyboard much even though I tend to leave the LEDs on my keyboard at max power for the lulz. Until I remember I need to sleep and switch them lower.

To have money is to have no money because money is an abstract illusion that we use to lie to ourselves to give the world a semblance of an arbitrary value to the things we hold dear.

In other words, money come; money go.

Stop blaming the wrong problem. Don't solve the wrong problem.
The problem is not your currency being low. The problem is because the set is accomodating so many layouts with so many extra keys.

$75 for a tkl set vs $120 for a tkl set seems unreasonable sweat.gif
$95 for a full set vs $143 for a full set...still about $50 difference...

Gotta take into account that the extra keys are not free, and they are custom legends.
So have to pay the custom legends fee.

need to look for point "SP", "GMK", "IMSTO", "BSP".. these all easy to read. What you mentioned are all made by SP, which is thin ABS ds, IMSTO(kbc?) makes dyesub thick pbt, GMK is thick abs ds, BSP is dyesub thick pbt as well.

just remember all these name and you'll be set to go. usually only these in GH gbs, with the occasional kbt, tai hao(forgot name), and stuff. most of the gb's are SP made.

it's not doubleshot that is the culprit.
it's the material, ABS plastic that is prone to shine, single or double or thick after an extended usage.

PBT material however, is way more durable.

in term of pricing where do PBT key stand? i know double shot is pricey because of the process and not the material.. and how to know its a PBT key or not? got physical surface different? hmm.gif

Materials: ABS, PBT and POM

Printing (in term of expensive and exclusiveness): Doubleshot, dye sub, engraved, lasered, pad printing

Doubleshot mostly only on abs (with the exception of the vortex/kbc doubleshot pbt recently), while dyesub mostly limited on pbt (cause abs's melting point is too low to be dyed).

The best is to find dyesub or doubleshot pbt if durability is what you seeking for.

QUOTE
Gloss and yellowing: Double-shot moulded keys are made from ABS plastic because most other plastics shrink too much in the moulding process. ABS may yellow over time, and is not as hard as PBT plastic. The texture of PBT keycaps will remain longer than the texture of ABS keycaps - the ABS keycaps get glossy after extended usage. Because of this, PBT keys with dye sublimated legends are regarded by many as an even better alternative, although dye sublimation has its own set of disadvantages and limitations, most notably it cannot be used to print light legends on dark keycaps.

Not easily, depend on the usage too. I think the WASD, shift and spacebar turn shiny first. Hate shining key, get POM or PBT. Why not get IMSTO thick PBT. Recently I bought myself Vortex double shot PBT but I just realised that I don't need more than a set of keycaps. doh.gif Doesn't have time to change and mix match.

Spacebar fastest.. most of the spacebar I got from a SP set, such as ragnarok/sanctuary goes shiny way too fast. I had to change to PBT spacebar. sleep.gif

He is suggesting you to get a new board with a more standard layout so you can swap and replace it easily whenever the old one aged.

From previous threads, I came to the conclusion that there are still quite a lot of ppl too skeptical or paranoid or simply impatient to go through the hassle of waiting to get stuffs from foreign country online even if it save much more money doing so.

Therefore, if you do mass import and resell at a price in between taobao and heavyarm, you still had a handsome sum of profit margin.

P/s: the theory above only for keycaps cause it is light and probably less chances to get hold by custom. For keyboards, it is too bulky and expensive to do mass import, not to mention warranty claim problem.

Locally, the market demand for keycaps are still very very low, so no one will do mass import to feed the minority, it is just too non-justifiable in business sense.

So it is still the best for us to browse China Facebook smile.gif

Yes and no.

If you take a look at the gamers market, the demand is still there. Take a look at all those purchase at heavyarm b4, even it is overpriced, gamers still get it.

The safest or best investment is to get some quality wasd keys and sell.

It is up to you man.
I don't really mind it shines, but you wont really bother it when the time it wears a lot.
Probably you will be using it for quite a while already.

Else just go for pbt.

"fun" is a funny word here...almost everyone here is a brood of vipers...
you'll subconsciously, unknowingly let your money flow out of you as you stay here longer...
it's "fun" they say...and that is true when hard earn money is converted into plastics or keyboards.

Cause never try never know , ppl always tend to use more exp/better material tongue.gif

And now they know 7075 is actually too hard for it to make some diagonal cutting(?, not really know what the specific terms rolleyes.gif ) or anything, making is very troublesome during manufacturing. tongue.gif

maybe abang taobao can help
0168257061

but what are you looking for in a mechanical keyboard?
the game-mode-ness, backlit, quality, wireless?

if i were to choose any china brands board...my first choice would be keycool 87, probably followed by noppoo choc mid 87 or ikbc f-104 and morphling plum-87 if wireless is a need and keycool 87 backlit if backlit is a need.

why don't stick to famed brand like keycool / noppoo / plum etc etc?
due to some other gaming brands, I think that

" as the keyboard looks more special or gaming-look, the keyboard cannot tahan lama"

Well, that neo zelia one is a wireless but the thing is, it doesn't really have a case. If you know what I mean.
Why don't you start off with something small. Like I know a the previous thread, a lot of people is quite into that keycool board since it's quite cheap. smile.gif

Search for reputable brands and models that don't have issues on faulty controller and pray that it doesn't dead on arrival.

After that, you probably won't need to care bout the warranty except sometimes faulty switches which can be easily fixed locally.

Marehsia made, export to china, reimport to marehsia.

Yet still cheaper than get directly in marehsia.

Someone here have it.

But IINM, someone said Malaysia's one is using ISO layout (not too sure since I never saw or interested in one), which is weird to use on.

Somemore, as always, the weird modifiers and spacebar size will be the utmost pain in ass in your future upgrade, even worse than your SS7G.

RM20 chapalang logitech mouse
RM20 chapalang speaker

RM1160 korean custom keyboards

Yeah, so much worth it. icon_idea.gif

BTW, since your budget is pretty plenty, I will say get a filco, and save the rest of the money for keycaps.

If you really despo for backlit, then get a Ducky Shine 3.

Still don't know how the sky blue will turn out laugh.gif

Powder coat is just a temp solution, a fairly cheap one at 25 bucks until I find some anodizing shop locally.

It's a little harder to find matching caps compare to sifo one as his lz-s is winkey

You need to replace the whole keyboard assembly.
Or you can bring to shop and ask them to replace single switches.

Will you be able to get used to the layout? That is quite a change. It is worth it if you could get use to the layout, and convenient wise.

I think you better slowly go down, later straight poker then you cannot get used to all the keys disappeared from your usual full keyboard. Maybe can try mechkb.com, a lot of varieties.

For Taobao purchase, my advice is there is no need to share shipping as the shipping charges is so cheap. Unless you guys are from the same place (schoolmate or colleague) else it makes no sense to save on the shipping and ship again after arrived here.

This time I choose to share the shipping because these are boxes,it get damage easily if not properly handle by the seller/custom/posmen.

So I think if we buy in bulk, we can ask the seller to pack more firmly(maybe with some additional fees) for it to arrive Malaysia savely. blush.gif

To be frank I still like KMAC design.
Where the plate you can choose to mount top or bottom frame.
It gives flexibility.

Yup, what attract me is the stock keycaps and side LED. Looks like standard layout. Come with braided cable too. And the design not bad. I think this keyboard mainly aim gamers. But for those who want professional minimal look, I think they will think this is ugly.

I read in china forums that Zero shine actually not as good as zero.

Yar, iOne is famous and old in making mech kb, but their reputation isn't too great with their previous lines of keyboard till Razer Blackwidow era.

They are capable of making good keyboards too, but their qc isn't good enough. Worse is all their board are using 1.5x modifier and 6x spacebar.

i believe it's the metal plate that they use in keycool. makes the bottoming out sound really orgasmic (i can't imagine how it's like on kmac...ugh!)
and yes, typing on those big modifiers with costar stabs on metal plate gives a better feel compared to cherry stabs.

Those plates that allow switches to be reopened are a menace.
How many times do you change the springs?

It allows the switches to be pulled out when you have a slightly tight keycap.

Yup, it is useful when your keycaps are tight and pulled out the switch stem together.

You can then remove the top case of switch and reinsert the stem rather than dismantle the whole board and disorder to fix a switch.

The pull out of a stem is not the plate's fault. It will come out due to the keycaps stuck too tight on the stem.

F104 total only 4 screws - two for pcb with base and another 2 for securing the cable.

What you need to do is to pry along the gaps to remove the top case, later you will see the whole steel plate.

my designer need a mark up sample for him to measure the dimension and mark any special placement for usb and screws.. can arrange meeting if you guys interested.. after marking up only can come out with quotation.. material can decide later as i don't know the material grade suitable for this kind of project.. as usual the more people involve the cheaper the production cost.. can put silkscreen custom own name or engraving as well.. for now this in still an early stage for this kind of project.. thumbup.gif

when? i wanna go n see also tongue.gif

most common 3D printers are able to print mono colours only or single colour, depending on the colour of the plastic roll. but of course there's better 3D printers that is able to slot in more than 1 plastic roll to print different colours in one printing.

the school i'm working at just bought a 3D printer, prints out stuff quite impressively accurate. first thought in my mind after seeing it at work is, must try printing a keycaps with it! biggrin.gif
but it's using ABS plastic. hmm...ainuddin which thread on GH u found the measurement for the casings? the DIY thread?

place a hammer case keyboard with brobots and cc caps on top of your room's door so when kyrmian walks in, he gets hammered in the head when the hammer board drops.

thanks I know about this site but it is really very expensive to buy and get it shipped to msia - would cost me around RM400 for a tenkeyless set of keycaps. thought that someone here would be selling or know an alternate site for topre realforce keycaps

thanks again anyway
