cfe is totally out of my budget. yes, maybe cfe is more powerful in terms of performance, but i think I'm okay with exec. blush.gif

preve even was not in my first option before. I was targeting myvi or persona, but when looking at preve sweat.gif

calling for all sifus notworthy.gif

i am in serious dillema now whether to get a MYVI 1.3 SE or PREVE 1.6 EXECUTIVE CVT
i wont go for cfe version as it is really exceed my budget.
follow my heart i wanted the preve because of the looks, superb handling and very spacious.
yet, by doing some research on internet many people complaining about the problem and fc.
myvi i really dont like the handling, as i drive my friend's before really felt unstable and want terbalik one, especially in corners and roundabout.
but some says u can save a lot in terms of fuel and free 3 yrs services.

as attached above, this will be my daily route to and from work, 8 to 5 or even more, cyberjaya to putrajaya(not inside putrajaya)
ppl say myvi will jimat in city driving, preve jimat in highway driving.. i dont know whether this route consider city or highway oo cry.gif
route one way around 10km, and mostly using highway. traffic condition i could say not really as jam as kl.

my main concern is fuel and repairing cost. one full tank if can last for one week still ok for me. just tht i scare isi one full tank then thursday already zero rclxub.gif this is my first car so most of myauto knowledge i got from internet only.

Why dont you take persiaran multimedia all the way to MDec then turn right, pass the bomba and naik the highway? Then you can skip 2 traffic lights.

I suggest you take the Preve.

Anybody compared different types of petrol on the Preve Turbo? Any difference in smoother acceleration or power between Petronas, Shell, Caltex or BHP?
*
I recently changed from petron to caltex. I does notice some difference as i'm staying in a hill area. When climbing, it is much powerful (imo). haven't tried other yet.

Sorry now only i notice you mention about turbo variant. Mine is IAMF+ auto.

If you are worried about FC, get Myvi. If you want driving enjoyment, don't care too much about FC and get the Preve. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Pick which one you'd rather sacrifice. FC or driving enjoyment?

Sanadi said it.

I got the new myvi LB 1.3 in the house, bought for my family, before I sold my previous car and got Preve Exec.

If you want to zip around town fast, the myvi is a joy, and it's definitely much more fuel saving. I know cause I drive it sometimes. The feeling of driving the myvi right after the Preve exec is almost like driving a car with supercharger. Hahaha.. That's how slow BUT comfortable the Preve Exec feels.

But drive on the highway, you will hate the Myvi. I do. It's scary when u reach 120kmh. Preve Exec, you will hate start-stop driving cause u really need to be laid-back kind of person to enjoy it. For me, still ok.

In fact, I get less agitated on the road and more calm in my driving style nowadays after driving Preve.. Last time turbo car always want to race and road rage.. Probably getting old hahaha.. Good luck in making the right decision.

As everyone commented, myvi and preve served different purpose as i have myvi manual 2007 and preve CFE now...

Myvi manual 2007:
FC: 17 - 18 km/h
Recommended speed limit 100km/h
Lack of driving enjoyment
Lack of boot space (problem for a family)
Parking easy job
Engine no enough ohmmmmm
Maintenance I think myvi is the winner, no major spare part replacement yet for 7years @ 90k km

Preve CFE
FC: 11 - 12 km/h
Recommended speed limit 130km/h but still can go further, much more stable compare to myvi
Have driving enjoyment as especially CFE version with GPS, auto wiper, auto headlamp, etc
Big space no matter boot space or cabin space
Can add reverse camera on CFE head unit
Parking is a big problem for a huge car
Engine have enough ohmmmmm especially used sport mode or paddle shift
Maintenance no idea yet

My advise: go for myvi if u don't plan for family yet for the next 5 years if salary wasn't that high, save the money for ur plan such as buy house or wedding plan... Otherwise u may regret y u spend so much money on car while u looking for money desperately...

agreed with this.. if ur take a 9 years loan than consider about 5-7 years of planning ahead.. if u no idea what would happen then stick to highest secondhand value which in this case mavi for sure so within next few years u always can upgrade with some money in hand..

Hence, car maintenance also part of concerns... Usually spare parts replacement are required on fifth years onwards depending on your lucks... That why I stick to 5 years car loan no matter how even though I can afford RM120k+ car if go for 9 years loan... Hence if go for longer tenure, we may in dilemma to sell car too during car loan as we need to top up some money to bank in order to let go the car...

Happened to my wife car worth RM32000 that time which tended to sell on 6th year but still have another 1 year car loan to go and need to top up about RM2000... Imagine go for expensive car may bring u to hell with low salary paid and 9 years loan...

Okay thanks for the information. I am still monitoring the performance of the vehicle with Caltex since i just pumped in the first tank with about 5% Petronas leftover. Will pump in another full tank of Caltex by end of this week and monitor the performance.

The acceleration seems a bit smoother with Caltex than Petronas though I am more interested in the slight knocking sound in the Turbo engine, whether it can be eliminated completely with the right fuel. I will try BHP after this to see which fuel will be more "friendly" to the Turbo engine.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

im newbie here nod.gif

I from Kemaman
Actually i already booked preve CFE premium with rebate about 4k..so loan 69k.
The question here..when i Google there are lot promotion rebate and so far i saw 6k.
i ask dealer thy said its was 2012 model and not 2013. My model was 2013, and i choose fire red color.
They only offer me fully tinted and full tank.. its dealer at kemaman..other like warranty and service i forgot to ask tongue.gif
This is first time i buy a car and i just want opinion from u guys is this normal offer or there are hidden more..
Bank already give a call..before i sign the agreement i just want make sure this the best offer i got or u guys knew there are others branch or dealer offer more than this..(Kuantan, kemaman or K.tganu) KL so far away tongue.gif

Before made this decision buying preve, i have survey Vios, Honda, Forte and Elantra. All model has offer rebate except for new vios. The high offer came from Honda which are 7k rebate for city E. I test and the result came from preve for good handling and worth to buy. Other only Honda city win category FC. New vios for me only better exterior look only lol.
Preve for me only lack of FC..other better than others.

Others question is, if the colour is red, what bodykit suit for my preve and where i can get?
I can get the R3 kit with the price 4k from proton branch at Kuantan (same offer 4k rebate).
U guys knew better than me, please advise. Thanks biggrin.gif

i think the R3 bodykit is not released yet by Proton, and estimated price for the bodykit is RM1.5k, as per mentioned in previously. Link

Maybe others can add some. smile.gif

after one year and 4 months using preve cfe, i can say that this is the car for superb handling, awesome performance and spacious roominess, but in term of fuel efficiency, NVH and interior build quality preve still have much more needed to improve compared to japanese and european car.

whatever it is, till now i have no regret of buying this car. im giving it 3.8/5 rating.
