Just did on-wheel (high speed) balancing 2 days ago. No problem. I also was having the same issue as you, steering vibration whenever hit exactly 120kmh and above.

Go to those shop that have the machine to spin your tire with your engine off. And gear in Neutral. (Front tires)
For Rear tires, engine off. Gear in (P). Handbrake engage.

** Don't do if they want to on your engine, jack/lift up, and use engine power to spin tire. Harmful to engine/gearbox.

btw @spiritbreaker_33 what is your mileage now? some of owner old batch/chassis number, the tire was not round. Need to check the tire wear and tear, ur rim also need to be check. got bengkok or not. icon_rolleyes.gif

For torque converters and wet-clutch, keep your engine running but in keep the gear in N, then use an external spinner to spin the tires.

If you switch of your engine, the oil in the wet clutch is not being cooled as you spin your wheels at high speed (The engine runs the CVTF pump, which cycles the CVTF and cools them). This is the very same reason why you should NEVER tow your car with the front wheels on the ground.

But, if they do try using the engine power to spin the wheels, the wheels will not spin fast enough anyway. Don't ask me why or how, according to Kristoff there seems to be some safety mechanism that prevents the engine from spinning the wheels too fast if the car is jacked up.

Any Preve Turbo owners who experience slight metal grinding sound when accelerating up a slightly inclined slope or from a toll plaza at speeds of say 20km/h to 100km/h. The sound is not really loud so if you don't pay attention you will not hear it. I"m not referring to the sound of the Turbo engine.

I don't know if this is a defect or unrefinement of the Turbo engine. Since it is a minor issue, I will only bring up this issue in the next service. Just curious if any other Preve owners experience this metal grinding sound when accelerating from standstill to about 80-100km/h.

If anyone drives a manual car before, the "metal grinding" sound is like the sound you hear when you accelerate the vehicle using 4th gear when the right gear to use is 2nd or 3rd gear.

Sorry, abit too technical so I don't know what exactly you're trying to tell. tongue.gif

- For our simple confirmation, for Preve , does the engine need to be ON or OFF during on-wheel (high speed) balancing? -

Cause that shop did for me with engine off, and so far still ok, no problem at all.

Engine on, gear in N, spin the wheels with the spinning machine. smile.gif

When doing on-wheel balancing the wheels are spun at high speed only for a few seconds, so any wear is minimized. But advisable to still keep the engine on.

If towing, never tow with front wheels on the ground.

Anybody compared different types of petrol on the Preve Turbo? Any difference in smoother acceleration or power between Petronas, Shell, Caltex or BHP?

Asking sifu's here what is your running tire pressure for the BAX2 tire or any other tire for Preve?

After a few trial and error I find Fr 36psi and rr 33psi is the best balance between Handling and efficiency. Never tried on wet road yet.

dyno test is actually to test how much horsepower and torque the car is actually giving out on the wheels. it is like driving full throttle (for a short period of time only) on the dyno machine..
