I just discovered that when I'm in 60.xxx.xxx.xxx ip range I'll get funtionable v6 connection ,but when in 175.xxx range ,i can obtain v6 address but not usable, traffic always point to v4.

I'm using 1043nd with barrier breaker (0.12+svn-r10530). I did not change much on ipv6 area, my router able to get v6 address, i'am able to ping to ipv6.google.com from the router.

However, my client in LAN, not able to get v6 address from TM v6 range. Need to read more.
*
I think the prefix delegation in barrier breaker may have compatibility issue with Unifi, the dhcpv6 is not able to get the prefix from unifi, hence, it couldn't propagate the ipv6 prefix to the LAN client. I have tried to force request the prefix in the /etc/config/network WAN6 section, unfortunately ended up even worst, unable to get ipv6 address at all.

It could be a problem at TM.

For my office connection, we could get our static prefix assigned using DHCPv6-PD with our Mikrotik for a few weeks... and it stopped after that. Like you, I can get a SLAAC prefix only. I haven't gotten around to calling in to raise a fault.

So, just saying that it's not necessarily a client software problem.

Thanks, glad that I'm not alone laugh.gif

I'm currently reading this, http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/network6#d....lan-interfaces, thinking of possibility to use dhcpv6 relay mode since you mention barrier breaker having issue obtaining v6 prefix.

update: relay mode not working. given up for now. will try again tomorrow.

did you test for wow yet ? Cause that game confirm has ipv6 servers  hmm.gif
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...ication_support
hopefully more game servers also have native ipv6 and hopefully then can see the latency benefit of ipv6 hopefully.
diablo 3 is still ipv4 (when connected, the d4 ip is ipv4). latency to us is 203 ish.... to the aus server 60 ish or so.

Didn't compare between ipv4 and ipv6 unifi so can't really post that result  sweat.gif
By the way is anyone using tomato firmware ? Does the latest shibby/raf/toastman support unifi ipv6 now ? or still have to use hack to set the ipv6 mtu still ?  hmm.gif
*
I'm using the shibby build. I could get the IPv6 but it took like forever to load
the facebook or youtube.

What do you mean by "use hack to set the ipv6 mtu"?

How to do it?

That's because of the MTU problem, it is too high and need to be lowered to something like 1432 or something like that.

everytime i boot up my router, i have to manually enter via ssh putty to the router to set the ipv6 mtu.

And after 10-30minutes then the ipv6 start to register.

If i don't do that ipv6 won't work.
So i take it you don't need to do any weird setup ? your router confirm will get ipv6 ?  hmm.gif
But then again, did you confirm this using the online checker on google ipv6 to confirm ? Also sounds like your mtu is too high so youtube is suffering, did you try lower a bit  hmm.gif

I don't know how to set MTU inside the router.

I know only how to set inside the windows.

What's the command that you use to set the IPv6 MTU?

What MTU did you set?

i'm using an older raf firmware.

changing the mtu in the gui interface wasn't what changed the ipv6 mtu apparently. not sure if it was a gui setting they forgot to add, or a bug. so anyhow, we figured had to set it manually via ssh putty  hmm.gif

thx... I put that script in WAN UP and it work like a charm.... wink.gif

Testing it now.

Dear TM IPv6 Implementor,

IMHO, i've successfully run TM_IPv6 on pfSense and managed to get it working SLAAC mode and DHCPv6 mode (one mode at a time - not both). (Streamyx ADSL 8Mbps here - PPPoE)

After relentless hour of searching, calling here and there (esp TM guys) and the results is very good. I'm able to replicate the case if needed but to pfSense users/IPv6 Implementor please do read on.

Findings:

1. Only works in pfSense 2.2 . Currently i'm on BETA specifically pfSense-LiveCD-2.2-BETA-i386-20141017-1129

2. Set your WAN to DHCPv6 , Tick Request IPv6 via IPv4 connectivity, Tick Request Prefix no IP Address , Select 64 as for the size and last Tick the box third .Of course you'll need to setup your PPPoE Username and Password.

3. Go to LAN and as usual set your IPv4 LAN IP and for IPv6, Pick DHCPv6 here. Tick the first and the third box only and set 64 too.

4. You may want to adjust your DNS Server at System -> General Setup accordingly.

As soon as all the configuration in place and you have your internet connectivity, please head on to Status -> Interfaces . Your pfSense LAN interface should pickup the PD (Prefix Delegation IP) and you can set your PC/Netbook/Notebook "statically" using the information. Below are the example:

PD Info
pfSense IPV6 "LAN" IP - 2001:4411:7a4::1:1
YOUR PC IPv6 "LAN" IP - 2001:4411:7a4::1:fdc0:c0d3
Subnet - 64
Gateway - 2001:4411:7a4::1:1

EDITED: The IPv6 Address will change once you reboot your pfSense and you'll have to manually assign the address again. So do watch out.

Another caveat to look for, as far as i'm testing, i do suffer MTU problem (certain website lag and unable to accesss) and i haven't lowered yet the MTU. You should try to lower your MTU at 1432 as per suggested on previous post and test it out. YMMV

As always, pfSense 2.2 is still in BETA mode and i can't wait for RELEASE version of 2.2
If anyone wishes to look at my config and screenshot, please state it here and i'll try my best to upload somewhere.

P/S: the "LAN" IPv6 is actually Globally Routed IP - WAN IPv6 so to speak . I'm trying to differentiate the terms so that hopefully you might grasp the idea. Please do pardon me for any confusion.

credit: Thanks to asellus for answering some of my question earlier on.

Regards

UPDATE:

Unfortunately, pfSense RAdvd (Router Advertisement) still broken and i can't replicate back the setup i used last night. I can assure it was working and i've test it 10 times with different scenario (off & on modem, reboot PC, restart my virtualbox) and it's working last night. I'll try another approach and update to this thread once i reached the conclusion on pfSense platform. Seems that pfSense doesn't do send rapid-commit; at this point.

I've been trying to get connected to streamyx with IPv6 but to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong?

I've enabled IPv6 on my D-link DSL-2750U modem router and it seems that my computer has a local IPv6 address. I've also entered google's IPv6 DNS address in my router.

However, IPv6 connectivity on my wireless adapter properties state "no internet access".
