Anyone here manage to configure TomatoUSB with Native IPv6 for Unifi?

I'm using RT-N16 with Shibby build 117. I couldn't get the Native IPv6
for my WAN interface no matter what I configured. I only could get
6to4 relay IPv6 for my WAN interface to work but the speed kinda suck.

Please share me your tips if you can configure Native IPv6 for TomotoUSB.

I had the same problem too when I tried out various Tomato builds. Native IPv6 doesn't seem to work (at least for me).
*
I managed to get Native IPv6 working. It took for a while to get
the WAN IPv6 address after connected to PPPOE and I had to disable
and re-enable my NIC to get the Native IPv6 working properly.

The worst part was... it's kinda very very slowwwwww......

My Firefox show that it's connected to the website (Facebook and etc)
but it kept on waiting for reply.

I also tried with Google IPv6 DNS but gave me same result.

what is ipv6 benefit for?
*
It will give you a extremely slow internet experience which
normally you're getting only the very slow internet experience.

P.S. Exclusively for T- Nut

The reason why Facebook/Youtube can be slow when IPv6 is enabled is because the MTU is too high. I use the MTU of 1280 in ND setting so that those websites will be easily accessible, plus solve the problem where some Android devices. 1452 is definitely not low enough for all devices.

What's ND Setting?

I couldn't find this setting in my TomatoUSB.

Where is the setting in TomatoUSB?

The only MTU setting I can find which is in
the WAN settings and the default value is 1492.

Is this the one?

I'm not familiar with TomatoUSB, but you can try changing that value.

What router are you using?

may i ask how you find the proper value for ipv6 MTU?

i know for ipv4 we can ping its fragment to get desired results e.g
ping -f -l 1472 google.com

until you get the results without 'Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set.'
how about ipv6 maybe you can share?
*
My IPv4 best MTU is 1464 + 28 = 1492 like the default one.

did you test for wow yet ? Cause that game confirm has ipv6 servers  hmm.gif
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...ication_support
hopefully more game servers also have native ipv6 and hopefully then can see the latency benefit of ipv6 hopefully.
diablo 3 is still ipv4 (when connected, the d4 ip is ipv4). latency to us is 203 ish.... to the aus server 60 ish or so.

Didn't compare between ipv4 and ipv6 unifi so can't really post that result  sweat.gif
By the way is anyone using tomato firmware ? Does the latest shibby/raf/toastman support unifi ipv6 now ? or still have to use hack to set the ipv6 mtu still ?  hmm.gif
*
I'm using the shibby build. I could get the IPv6 but it took like forever to load
the facebook or youtube.

What do you mean by "use hack to set the ipv6 mtu"?

How to do it?

everytime i boot up my router, i have to manually enter via ssh putty to the router to set the ipv6 mtu.

And after 10-30minutes then the ipv6 start to register.

If i don't do that ipv6 won't work.
So i take it you don't need to do any weird setup ? your router confirm will get ipv6 ?  hmm.gif
But then again, did you confirm this using the online checker on google ipv6 to confirm ? Also sounds like your mtu is too high so youtube is suffering, did you try lower a bit  hmm.gif
*
I don't know how to set MTU inside the router.

I know only how to set inside the windows.

What's the command that you use to set the IPv6 MTU?

What MTU did you set?

i'm using an older raf firmware.

changing the mtu in the gui interface wasn't what changed the ipv6 mtu apparently. not sure if it was a gui setting they forgot to add, or a bug. so anyhow, we figured had to set it manually via ssh putty  hmm.gif
*
thx... I put that script in WAN UP and it work like a charm.... wink.gif

Testing it now.

I've updated my router firmware. confirmed ipv6 works on shibby Tomato v1.28.0000 MIPSR2-123 K26 USB AIO
however.... i still had to use the old trick to get ipv6 to work.

1. login to router via winscp > putty

enter this code
CODE
echo 1420 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/br0/mtu

confirmed that this setting was applied, using this code
CODE
cat /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/br0/mtu

has anyone yet figured how to automate this step into tomato so i don't have to manually go to putty ssh and do this manually every time i reboot/restart my router ?
*
put the script in Admin --> Scripts --> WAN up

echo 1420 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/br0/mtu

Hi guys,

Need help setting up router for DD-WRT

Currently running on the following

Unifi
Modem - Huawei HG8240w Echolife
Wireless Router - RT-N66U
Current firmware 378.54_2 Asuswrt-Merlin

Looking to upgrade firmware to DD-WRT,

Have tried flashing it but can't seem to get the settings right.

Can anyone help?
*
What do you mean?

Last time I used DD-WRT years ago. It was so bad. It was very unstable and full of bugs.
I had to move to Shibby's TomatoUSB. Not sure about now.

Need to get the settings so that I can connect to Unifi, can't seem to find the right settings to set the RT-N66U as a Wireless Router after flashing DD-wrt
*
This was exactly what happened with my RT-N16 last time.

No matter what I configured also couldn't get it to work.

I would suggest you to use Shibby's TomatoUSB instead.
