Someone does not love too bassy  blush.gif

laugh.gif the matter is not bassy or not. the bad thing about M3300 sub is that its too muddy, just like the case with X300 and MP300.
lack of subwoofer crossover may be one. second is because lack of power. if u heard E3100, its much refined in the bass dept. but lacking of clarity.

i try bypassing subwoofer crossover in the klipsch gmx, it sounds as muddy as M3300, but then still sounds better because of the power...
anyway i think im gonna sell my gmx. doh.gif

a lot of entry level speakers has the same problem...the sub freq response is at the high range, 70-300hz, at this point the satellite also could produce the range from 100hz and up, thats why the bass seems can't separate from the satellite and made the sound 'muddy'.

1st time i get the M3300 also happy. much better than competitor, VS4121.
later than kena poison here and there, then infected... doh.gif

i forgot, u were lucky, because u get M3300SF instead of M3300, with more RMS and slimmer sat.
when i need a speaker, only M3300 avail that time... and i purposely choose M3300 because of its slim sat. biggrin.gif

well this is normal perception for majority of forumers, normal/old batch/1st batch better than redesign/2nd batch because redesign/2nd batch = cut cost, although i'm not totally agree on that. tongue.gif

well, i suppose the SF is better, because the RMS is higher, means the op-amp used should be better than the normal.

and, since the SF much more thinner, its better, can just blu-tack to the wall then so thin liao. laugh.gif

but for the altec mx5021, i had to say, the 1st batch is better than the 2nd one. vs4121 and atp3, havnt heard yet...

Chillax boss blink.gif , this is discussion thread, it's where we learn and talk about speakers. I don't think we need degree to differentiate between a gd and poor SQ.

Jimmy's is the old one, the guide on Techenclave refers to the new one. The ones I did on mine are similar to the Techenclave guide with the exception of a few tweaks I thought sounded better.
