Y510p isnt supposed to have mSATA, they switched to M.2.
Even that some countries dont ship with the M.2 port if no SSD preconfigured..
*
yeah, from what i know. there supposed to be a NGFF mSATA, or you guys called it M.2

to all sifus,

Actually i'm very confused in getting the below 2 notebook:
MSI GE70 Stealth (SSD Ready) and lenovo Y510P

My budget is around 5K . .
Mainly for gaming . . .
*
did you mean GS70? there is no GE70 Stealth model. hmm.gif

if gaming is your main priority, i would prefer you to get the GS70 Stealth (RM5799), as the 17" is great for your gaming experience in Full HD. to add, it is very light and you get premium build quality. brows.gif

Hi sifus, If I'm working for only graphics rendering without any gaming, which of these is worthier?

Illegear RS-15 lite, 15.6 inch, i7-4700MQ, nVidia Quadro K1000m, 8gb ram, 500gb/7200rpm HDD, FHD, free DOS, no backlit keyboard, RM4999

MSI GS70-20D (Stealth), 17.3 inch, i7-4700HQ, nVidia GTX765M, 8gb ram, 1TB/7200rpm HDD, FHD, windows 8, backlit Steel Series keyboard, RM4899

is it obvious for the answer? or the K1000M is much more seducing (imagine urself as a professional graphics renderer and 100% not a gamer)?
*
definitely the RS-15 Lite. you simply cant use a Geforce card for your graphics rendering.

I thought there is another model with no SSD but 1TB 5400rpm HDD?
That's cheaper.
*
only 750GB 7200rpm or 128GB SSD + 750GB for the GS70.

Morning raymondtong94,
Bro really have a hard time to buy that stealth . . heart a bit pain when thinking of the price . .
How about lenovo Y510p?
*
If you choose the SLI option, you have the remaining budget for other upgrades.
SLI is still okay if you want a better performance gain.

1. All laptops are not future proof. It depends on how good the owner takes care of it, by maintaining its hardware parts.

2. The S451LB but what is the spec 1st?

3. Yes it is possible.

Actually i choose stealth because of the few point below:
1) slim
2) light weight
3) SSD
4) Nice look
5) it is a beast . ..

But it is too expensive . .  RM5499 . .

For the Y510p
It has the nearest spec compared with stealth . .
*
normally im not into the looks of the laptop, im more into hardware and pricing. so i will choose to pay less for a better hardware.

but those features of GS70 such as 17.3 inch, i7-4700HQ, windows 8, backlit Steel Series keyboard cannot beat the seduction of just a K1000M?
*
a simple question for you, do you want a laptop with hardware performance or laptop aesthetics to ease/fasten your production? icon_idea.gif

to add, i dont think that your graphics rendering performance will suffered by the difference between MQ and HQ, as there differences are very minor.

Fermi is the name and architecture used by Nvidia for their current previous Geforce generation line ups. so nothing is so special about it. P/S : to add, the Fermi is a typo by MSI. 7xxM is not a Fermi card, it is a Kepler architecture.

by the way, i would recommend you to take the Lenovo Y510P over the MSI GE60 with i5, as the cooling in Y510P is the same as the GE60.

if you want to compare, you can try notebookcheck for their reviews, my favourited notebook review site. icon_rolleyes.gif
