But I don't think you can have Mach FD starts on the same day if you walk in to Mach branch with cheque in the evening time. My pass experience was Mach staff say need to go to HL bank branch if want to have FD start on the same day. Mach branch at Paradigm Mall failed to do that. I had to go to the Mach branch at Sunway Gizza that is below a HL bank branch. Mach staff ran upstair to deposit my cheque and ran down to get my Mach FD placed on the same day.

Frankly speaking, besides those "canggeh" internet PC's (and ATM/Deposit machines), I have challenged them what exactly can they/customers do in a Mach branch? For example, I had to go to HL conventional branch if I need to uplift my Mach FD and issue a banker's cheque. It just looks silly to me when they say "Oh, that you need to go to the bank branch...". If Mach and bank branch are up/downstair like Sunway Gizza is still acceptable. But it will be painful/stuck if they are in different buildings/locations.
So, make sure you check first before you plan to visit Mach branch to avoid unproductive trip.

At first I wanna put aside some small sum under AmBank's 4.12% promo...but now that this 3.7% is in the limelight, wah, hard to decide.

Someone just told me that MBB has extended their PMA-I promo until May2014. Effective int/dividend is 2.75% + 1.1% bonus. But if you deposit thru the PMA-I child/trust account (max rm50k) you effectively get 3%+1.1%bonus.

Renew BR FD from 1 year to 2 year can still receive gifts? I thought FD renewal won't entitled us to any gifts. Did you top-up your matured FD for that 2-year placement?

No. The Bank wants to earn the forex spread from you by converting RM to SGD/USD (as account balance, not currency note) first.
If you wish to withdraw by cash, bank will earn the forex spread again and give you RM in currency notes.
You can withdraw in SGD/USD but must be in bank draft or TT. No cash.

Any charges to open a Money Box Deposit Account? Anyone can share how this savings account work? As I tried to search on the HLB website but can't seem to find any links relating to it.

which branch is it? i only got a miserable manicure set in Penang.
BTW, no more banker's cheque from BR from 2014, they will perform interbank giro to destination bank account and absorb the RM2 fees which is ok as banker's cheque may need 1 more day to clear.

I can confirm up to RM2 as that's the amount currently in my MoneyBox. I opened with Rm100 deposit because they gave free water bottle.

confirmed RM1 as that's the amt I always leave in there after withdrawing my monthly FD interest. For for normal savings account , it has to be RM10
