QUOTE Alliance Bank Straight Forward Fixed Deposit Promo 3.45% 6 Months. No CASA condition. Ends 31 March 2014. Alliance Bank has extended their FD Promo until end of March. So, maybe you may want to consider signing up with Alliance Bank and get their Debit Card were you can earn up to 2% cash back from your transactions. This is interesting, but I couldn't find any advertisement in its website. Can you please share the URL link if any? |

With regards to the quote, I quoted partially from the 1st post of this thread. I didn't want to quote the whole post as it's longer than my focus. I used reply with "More Options" and quote the text manually. That's why the quote did not contain any name. To my knowledge, the 1st post was created and edited by "davinz18". |

BTW, you use DC coz don't wanna pay RM50 GST ka? Very kiam siap...no wonder have $$$ to place in FDs I guess 4.2% for one year was the highest old rate before BR dropped to 3.96% board rate. (But one member reported 4.25% during old board rate 4.01% in version 4). Depositors should get the maximum rate as long as if depositors place more than the minimum deposit amount (was RM 50 K, now RM 100 K) and coupled with good FD placement records with BR. Top Goat is not alone, I use debit card because I do not want to pay for the government tax either.. This RM 50 government tax does not make any sense at all...and I do not understand why we do not need to show picture ID when use credit card/debit in cashier counters? For many reasons I think to use debit card is more secured than credit card.. |

For many reasons I think to use debit card is more secured than credit card.. As Gen-X said, the key point of the Alliance Bank DC is the cash rebate which I found to be rather attractive. My placement were a few fold more than the minimum deposit amount, but never been able to get more than 0.10% rate. Maybe I'm not as leng chai as the two of you Regarding the DC, in the event that a merchant doesn't allow CC payment for selected items such as milk powder & cooking oil; can we swipe with DC? Or still have to make cash payment only? Coz from my understading, DC & CC share the same terminal for authorization and then later on, transfer the fund to the merchant. |

If merchant don't accept Visa or MC CC, then most probably you can't use Visa/MC Debit Card because like you said, they share the same terminal. |

Guys, latest news...
Went to HL Mach @ Sunway Gizza today, greeted by a tall sweetie, model like figure, easily 5'11". BCC should go and check it out. Sorry, back to the news, she said they are launching a new FD promo starting tomorrow. 1 year Mach FD @ 3.7%p.a. (no CASA link). Not fantastic but that's their promo for the new year. Check the news and their website tomorrow if you are interested. She said need fresh fund, but if you transfer from Money Box, consider fresh fund as they can't control fund transfer over the internet. E.g. if you have Mach FD maturing, if auto renew will get board rate, but if uplift into Money Box and then place a new Mach FD then can entitle for promo rate.
