gonna try s-flex if i have the chance. hmmm....since irangan said singapore also out of stock. dang...
with low cfm fan, even tho performance was ok, i cant feel the air flow behind the heatsink. meaning not much air came thru. lol...

QUOTE(Doom @ Aug 24 2007, 10:25 AM) It would definitely beats AC Freezer regardless which setting ... however with noise issue .. AC fan would runs quieter than Xigmatek stock fan ... so if a quieter fan used on Xigmatek it add additional cost where any silent fan cost about RM60 ... In the end AC is still way cheaper that performs at certain level right out of box ... while Xigmatek cost RM150 itself already and after added with a silent fan .... it's just at different level... well with the new bulk price for rm119 the Xigmatek s963 basically a steal.IMO 92mm fans usually is louder than 80 and 120mm.to me if i can tolerate nidec tri blade anything else just peachy FYI if u case has a superb airflow maybe can try running fanless...a fren of mine bought my xp120 running E6300@3.0ghz FANLESS

QUOTE(blessedvillain @ Aug 24 2007, 01:10 AM) true...additional fan to replace xigmatek heatsink would cost little more $$....so, that beats the purpose of budget heatsink already. i cant think of any good budget heatsink other than AC Freezer. haiya.. y so headache bout the fan... people complain bout xigmatek 963 fan is noisy because they OC it the fan will blow at full speed of 2850rpm in OCing.. for regular usage, the fan just stick at 1700-2000rpm which you wouldn't hear it if you are interested of the dBA stuff.. study them below artic cooling freezer 7 Speed: 900 - 2500 RPM (PWM) Noise: <17-37dBA@1M http://www.silentpcreview.com/article285-page4.htmlxigmatek 963Speed: 1650-2850RPM (PWM) Noise: 34-39dBA@1M http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/d...63_6.html#sect0

From the figures it shows that even at lowest speed ..xigmatek still nosier than Artic Cooling ...
so eventually AC is quieter and also won't perform as good as Xigmatek due to different design ...

Yah AC Freezer and HR-01 are one of those ..
Works well with low RPM fan .... even pushing the fan higher also doesn't make much difference ..
besides off that Asus Artic Silent Square also not a bad performance however the price is really a set back ...

I might be building a new AMD based pc and I will be over clocking this new pc so pls give some comment~!
Planning to get a cooler to OC the cpu budget not over rm 200.

On the whole the Xigmatek HDT-S693 heatsink runs a little warmer than the the stock AMD Athlon64 AVC Z7U7414001 (AM2) heatsink, but much quieter. On the Intel platform the HDT-S963 is dramatically better than the stock Intel Core 2 Duo bifurcated-fin heatsink."
This can be found in ckhoong post it self. Pls comment. Any AMD plus Xig 963 user can comment on this??

I think most likely is mounting issue .. .there's no way a stock cooler could beat performance cooler without sweating too much ....
just have to wait more review on it ...
