If I am not mistaken, it is only available for Taiwan variant, you will see two huge boxes: 1 for laptop + 1 for steelseries headphone and mouse.

Not really, I am not sure, but according to my observation, Malaysia variant laptop regardless of any brands always get the basic set only.

i wonder what is included inside the box. I saw at MSI dragon army website, they give free steel series headphone & mouse and MSI bag, are they giving the same in Malaysia?  blush.gif

You may refer to booklet HERE, GT70 2PC comes with Assassin Creed HD Game, only GT70 2PE will get the Super Pack which include all the SteelSeries accessories. biggrin.gif

Haha, quite a good DIY pictures, the best way you can do is open the backcover, and direct your air from AC to blow them. laugh.gif

serious way: redo a thermal repaste on GPU and CPU frequently.

how did you power ur fans? usb?
you could use a mesh filter for the fans, they do blow out a slightly cooler air than those without.

its powered up by my coolermaster sf 19 cooler.

there is 4 3pin connector on that cooler.
each producing 12v and its powerful enough.

mesh? i thought that is going to block a lil of the air flow

oo.. nice.. i bought a china 12v adapter to power mine... =.="

just my 2cent bird logic..those mesh are made of metal, so they are generally cooler + air flow cooling the metal....
so........ logically.. air passing through a low temperature surface should, produce cooler air? i think.. hmmm..

Hey its good idea.

The gs70 top and bottom is made of alu(i think)
If you manage to transfer part of the heat from the heatpipes to your B cover, by theory it should help reduce heat.

But the cons is, B cover will b much hotter sweat.gif

Since the airflow is from above for GS70 and GS60, I guess fan won't make significant difference. Maybe a little bit.

What's the result from the experiment?

Only GS70 encounter?? can you describe more, bcs I am using WIN8.1 for months already, so far no issue encountered, only few times playing NFS: Rivals, the car stuck while still can hear engine sound.

For those who want a cooler/quieter and less power hungry system (and are not interested in full performance)..

I've dropped the multipliers by 2x across the board on the GS60 as well as the dynamic cpu voltage. (Meaning 3.2ghz turbo boost)

End result.. without running on Turbo Boost, stress testing all 4 CPU, total TDP is averaging at 22W, spiking at 24W.

Very happy with the results so far. Temperature even better, at a steady cool 60*C average.

With Turbo Boost on the same stress test, TDP usage jumps to around 36W average, spiking at 38W. CPU temperature is at a warmer 74*C average.

Now to mod the vbios to undervolt it.

vbios update, mine couldn't take the -75mv mod, it would crash frequently. Not sure if it's due to the vbios mod or something else, will need to troubleshoot.

870m, lagi worse.. LOL

Will need to test tonight. My 150W adapter is at home. Using 90W at work, won't be able to fire up any games. Upped it slightly to -50mv.

What I need is to figure out a way to force the 870m to run in Battery Mode.

Plugged in total power draw for me hovers at 80-90W with spikes to 100-110W. This is too much for my current 90W adapter to handle.

Running on batteries, it won't spike above 60W at all.

If I could get the Cooler Master USNA 120, then I will have no issues at all. But oh well, as it stands currently, not possible to find it anywhere.. That aside...

Gigabyte P35W V2 looks yummy with the 75W battery inside. GS60's 55W doesn't last long.
