Hey guys, just share some info about cpu benchmark of A10-5750M, especially with 8 Gb 1866 mhz support and 120Gb SSD.

Kindly refer to link below:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-c...chland-apu.html

P/S: tested device is HP, not MSI GX series, however, since GX uses A10 and cpu benchmark of 1866 mhz support of A10 is hard to find, hopes this can help those who want to buy GX series or plan to upgrade GX performance.

may be the games is not optimized for AMD, not really sure about that, I used to come across from Chinese website, when he reviewed the newest Need for Speed (cracked version), CPU is almost 100% or full load.

Looks good considering for CPU-intense game like GTA, there is a significant increase in FPS  rclxms.gif

Mind sharing an estimate what the Richland APU costs?

I am not sure about the price, mostly they buy the ES version from ebay, there is risk using ES sample bcs it can be high faulty rate

Copy and paste from facebook. Ok lah, this is really shit, I've heard bad stuff about MSI's after sales service but didn't it's that bad:

[Posted about 2 hours ago]

"MSI laptops may be nice but the customer service sucks like nobody's business. I bought a defective product from MSI that broke down after using for 10 days. 10 freaking days. Sent my laptop back, I requested for a one-to-one exchange on DOA basis. Since November 6 until now they kept dragging with alot of stupid excuses.

Last three weeks, I call them and they said, "Oh, your request is approved, but so sorry miss we don't have stocks available now, have to wait till end of december. But if you want a laptop now, you have to pay RM300 to get another laptop also a GE60 but an upgraded version." HELLO, I'M A STUDENT I BOUGHT THE LAPTOP FOR 3.3k CASH AND YOU TELL ME I HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER 300 BUCKS TO GET A LAPTOP INSTANTLY OR I HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT A MONTH!? I refuse to pay so I asked if they could just give me that available laptop for free as compensation?

1 week later still no news, nobody called me so I called MSI, MSI told me that I can pick up the upgraded laptop soon without paying RM300. I kept asking are you sure are you sure? I don't have to pay? She said yes you don't have to pay, the new upgraded laptop comes with keyboard with backlight and it has GTX graphic card. I was so happy. I called them 3 times to reconfirm the news, including informing them I will pick up on Friday blabla.

2 days later, 1 day before collecting the laptop, I called MSI, asking if the laptop has arrived, MSI told me "Yes, it has arrived I'll ask the technician to call you once they finish running a test on the laptop." When the technician called, I asked what's the specs of the laptop, he told me it doesn't have keyboards with backlight, cz it's the same model I bought that was defective." I was dumbfounded. That MSI fella promised me an upgraded laptop earlier! I called her asking why the sudden change?? She said, "Oh miss, MSI HQ gave the wrong info, you can't get the upgraded version."

WTF? So with just 1 simple sentence you can get away with compensating me?? And she didn't even called me to tell me that it's a wrong info given. I have to call the service centre to find out!! I was furious and I said FINE, I'LL PAY THE DAMN 300, I WANT AN UPGRADED VERSION LAPTOP. She said :"Oh sorry miss, we don't have stocks for the upgraded version laptop anymore." !@#@$!!

This morning, I called again. I cannot tahan already. 1 week since they troll me. She finally message me saying the laptop can be picked up, I just have to pay RM300. So i called MSI service centre in the morning to tell them I want to pick it up. MSI said "Sorry, we can't allow you to pick up first, because the laptop we received is a different model than what is stated in the e-mail. I will check with MSI HQ and call you back in a bit."

UNTIL 6PM NOBODY CALLED. I CALL BACK AND NOBODY ANSWER. 3 FREAKING DIFFERENT NUMBERS NOBODY PICK UP.

This is MSI's customer service. Kudos to MSI for providing such 'wonderful' service."

Oh, first time I heard about the bad warranty service of MSI, is it in Malaysia or other country?

I see, really terrible, she was unlucky bought a defect one. Maybe can suggest her to issue her case to Taiwan HQ.

For your suggestion, if you dont mind you can try to read through the warranty terms and condition for MSI before you buy.

Hi Prince J

Yes thank you for the confirmation on SoundBlaster on Illegear product, Yes i Agree every Brands notebook have it's own Advantage as you say Illegear Offer Dual Cooling Fan! and Customizable option from interior to exterior! wow! but Most Buyer is Quote to a certain budget for gaming notebook and MSI has able to meet that spec + it's budget of target customer biggrin.gif

*
I dont know Illegear provide assist in upgrading? In that case, will it void MSI warranty? And why not bring to MSI service center to upgrade, they dont provide upgrade?

Case solved. We assisted user on getting back her laptop.

We appreciate your feedback on this issue and we promise to improve our service.

It is good to hear that MSI Service finally take action to solve user's problem, also, this case reveals poor communication among staff and irresponsible action by person-in-charge. sad.gif

Hopefully, MSI can look into it and ensure every service center hit quality assurance from outside (recipient) to inside (management). biggrin.gif

Hello fellow MSI users,

I would like to upgrade my GE40 20C-019MY.

1. Take out ODD.
2. Transfer existing HDD to ODD bay with caddy.
3. Install SATA SSD in original HDD place.
4. Factory reset OS installed in new SSD (Don't care if wipe out contents of HDD.  No need to transfer files or anything.)

The problem is, warranty sticker on screw at the back.  So warranty void if I upgrade myself?  Reading from the web, I'm unsure SC will help to upgrade.  Is there a place where I can go to do this without voiding warranty?
*
I think you can ask MSI service center to help you switch, just you need to pay some fee

The price shown is retail price, you can get better offer from sellers. smile.gif

I dont own it, before that you can read the review:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-MSI-GS...k.102287.0.html

For GE70:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-MSI-GE...ok.98244.0.html

For GE60:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-MSI-GE...k.104693.0.html

MSI is really designed for gaming as it cooperate with Steelseries, Dynaudio etc. to promote its market.

By the way, you dont consider other brand also? e.g. ASUS/ILLEGEAR/Alienware/Y510P

is GE60 with Gefore 750M variant worth to buy at 3.5k?
*
If you compare in terms of graphic card, others may end up suggesting you add RM200+ to get Y510P SLI

If you say I7+GT750M right, competitors are ASUS N550JV and LENOVO Y510P SLI

Features of GE60: Steelseries keypad (non-backlit for GT750M variant), Killer Lan, 4x2W speaker

Feature of Y510P SLI: Red backlit keypad, JBL 2.0 speaker, Dual GT750M (performance on par with GTX770M)

Feature of N550JV: White backlit keypad, 2.1 Sonic speaker with external subwoofer, dual fan cooling, FHD with IPS

how about if add 500 to take the GTX760M variant? worth to take GTX760M compared to GT 750M ?
*
You mean GE60-2OD (RM3999) right? spec:

http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GE60-2OD.html#specification

Hmm, I would say RM500 include GTX760M + Blue Backlit (steelseries keypad)

I think is worth, bcs the upgrade part is with BACKLIT + GTX760M, playable game settings are from medium to high.

However, if you ask others, they may suggest you go to Y510P SLI for on par GTX770M performance. smile.gif

edit: gaming benchmark for 750M, 755M, 760M, 765M and 750M SLI (just tick the graphic cards then press enter)

If the price range is small (RM100~RM300) and CPU&GPU are same, people will judge by weight, battery life, overall features offer and screen size.
